As a self-proclaimed enthusiast of all things body-modification related, I never could seem to give myself credibility as anything more than a "poser" or "piercing groupie." Now I never really considered myself any of these, but deep down I just knew that I had to take that next step. To go for it. To pierce my genitals.

Now, I really did not have any reservations about doing this. I had been thinking about it for a while. Ever since I got my Extreme2 account on BME, I had been reading experiences and looking at pictures, trying to decide which piercing I thought would look and feel the best. I had decided on a frenum, but after my account expired, the thought left my mind. Then, recently, it came back. I started to re-read the experiences and the ones that struck a chord in me were the ones for the Prince Albert. Nearly every single one detailed the story of a good procedure, a good, relatively easy healing, and positive after effects. Well, that sold me. I am getting a PA.

I arrived at the studio at around 3:00 and was surprised at the number of people in there. Usually, there's maybe 3-5 customers, but on this day there were 8-12. It must have been the nice weather. I talked to Chad and he told me that I would have to wait a while, since nearly everyone there was there to get a piercing. That was OK with me, since I did not have anything to do anyway. So, once everyone had their piercings done, it was around 4:30. Chad had everything all set up in the back and handed me a towel and instructed me to put it on and sit in the chair. I did and the procedure began.

First, he took a bunch of paper towels and wrapped them around my penis, so it just came through a central hole. He then proceeded to clean the area. He had a cotton swab with some topical anesthetic on it and put that down into my urethra. This was kind of weird feeling and seeing Q-Tip in your penis is a little bizarre. He then marked the entry point right beside my frenum. Chad then inserted the receiving tube, which to me looked pretty big for something that was going to go INTO my urethra. It wasn't that bad though, because at this point, I was kind of numb. He was feeling around, making sure he had the hole of the receiving tube lined up perfectly with the entry point. "Ready, man??" "Yeah" I started breathing deeply in and out, which I believe helps a great deal and he pierced.

The piercing itself really didn't hurt too much. Just a pretty sharp prick(pun intended), and it was over. No residual pain after the piercing at all. The only pain in the entire procedure was the stick of the needle. He then inserted the 10 GA 3/4" surgical stainless steel captive bead ring in, but the bead that was with it was too small, and he didn't want it to rotate into my urethra. Neither did I. So he grabbed a bigger hematite bead and snapped that in place. He then wrapped the whole package up in gauze and put it in a rubber glove. I got my shorts on and waited for my ride.

When I got home, I had to urinate. It burned, and the sight of seeing your own penis with blood on it is kind of disconcerting, but it's all good. The burning stopped about three days after. I changed the wrapping every time I urinated and it didn't bleed at all the second day. I was pretty happy about this, because then I would not have to wear this idiotic glove contraption anymore. It has now been 4 days since the procedure, and I am feeling fine. Just minor discomfort if the ring somehow gets twisted a little bit. Aftercare is a breeze. I just soap it up in the shower and rinse it off and then I urinate to get the soap out of it. I also soak it in a cup of warm Dial anti-bacterial soapy water. This helps and also helped soak away the crusties and little dried blood chunks. I went back three days later and put in a steel bead, which was the same size as the hematite bead he gave me. I don't really like the look of the hematite and the steel is more aesthetcally pleasing to me personally.

I love the way it looks and it feels pretty good too. I am really looking forward to being able to stretch it out and from what my piercer says, PA's stretch very quickly as a result of gravity and "motion." I can't wait to try it out. If you're ever in the Fargo/Moorhead area and looking for a piercing or tattoo, I highly recommend going to Addictions. The staff is very cool and their shop is very clean. It is a very professional place. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me.
