I suppose I was a bit impetuous in getting my PA. The studio that I wanted to use was fully booked, so I went to the next best, or so I thought.

The off-hand manner in which I was dealt with should have given me

a warning, but I was desperate to get it done, so I went through with it.

The piercer was rather uncommunicative, a little distracted. I had a nipple pierced first, the third attempt to get it to stay. This piercing was wham bam done. He probably said 5 words to me during the whole procedure. No trying to make me feel comfortable or any of that time consuming nonsense.Pain? No more than other nipple piercings, I suppose.

Now on to the big stuff. He had to examine me first(?), to make sure I was able to be pierced. To this day I still find this a bit weird, but hey, I'm no expert(and to be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure that my "piercer" was either).

The "anesthetic" that was sprayed into my urethra was the most painful experience of my life(up to that point). Please make it stop! I was made to sit in the reception room while it took affect, hoping all the while that it would!

When I was called back in, thankfully the pain was only a dull throb, and the "target area" was decidedly numb. This only lasted until the piercer inserted the needle and started to feel around for placement. I could feel everything! Trying not to tense up I gritted my teeth, and then he pushed the needle through. New most painful experience!I almost hit the ceiling, like Tom in Tom and Jerry when his tail gets burned! I kid you not.

Jewellery placement hurt like a bitch too.

The next three days were rather uncomfortable. Urinating was agony, releived somewhat by peeing IN cold water, and the blood seepage from the piercing was a little more than I had anticipated.I was, however, fully healed within a month, and began to upgrade the thickness of the jewellery.

However, it became apparent to me that the placement of the PA was, to put it mildly, WRONG. The "piercer" had gone too far to the left, and my jewellery would flop to one side. It was aesthetically displeasing, as well as being slightly uncomfortable in more intimate moments. After a lot of serious thinking, I came to a decision. There was really only one thing to do - have it re-done. Properly this time.

Now, I had made the mistake before, so this time I went to my first choice of studio, Cold Steel in London.

After showing my misplaced PA to one of the piercers, they agreed that it really was not placed correctly, and I booked an appointment to have a new PA done.

After my last experience I was a little nervous to say the least. My piercer Dave, however, was absolutely fantastic. He took time to explain the procedure in depth, and made sure that I was happy with where he intended to place the piercing, explaining things like avoiding the remaining vestige of my frenum. He was unwrapping the needle when he dropped the bombshell - no anaesthetic! A little apprehensive, I asked if it would hurt more than my previous experience, and Dave assured me that it would hurt less, and that the healing period would be shorter and much less uncomfortable.Yeah, right.

Still not convinced , but figuring that I had done it once, so I knew it was not unbearable,we proceeded.

Dave made sure that I was ready. It was clear to me that he would not be happy to perform the piercing until I was 100 per cent ready.

You all know the drill, deep breaths , exhale fully, needle goes through your flesh, pain, pain and more pain. Well, not quite.

I cannot believe how less traumatic this piercing was to the last time.

As the needle went through I almost jumped off the table, but it was over in the blink of an eye, and I didn't even feel Dave insert the jewellery! I was a bit shaken, but more astounded by how little pain there was. Of course, my member was wrapped away in a surgical glove after only the briefest glimpse, a much better method than on the last occassion, when it was wrapped in kithen roll and taped.

My PA was healed fully within the week, urinating was no more uncomfortable than usual, and there was no bleeding at all. No waking up in the morning stuck to the sheets, and no embarassing stains on the front of my jeans.

I am sure that the anaesthetic was the reason for my discomfort with the first attempt, and I am equally certain that Dave's caring, professional manner is the reason that I consider this to be my "best" piercing experience. Believe me, I don't enjoy pain at all,in any way, shape or form, and I've been pierced 22 times.Obviosly the old PA exit hole is still open, and I occasionally slip a 3.2mm ring through one hole and out the other. It works like a really, really deep frenum piercing, and feels rather pleasant. Unfortunately the two piercings are not directly opposite each other, and being rather fussy about such things as aesthetics I do this less and less, as the appearance outweighs the pleasure.

(Dave has opened his own studio now, in Covent Garden, London, called Tusk tel.# 0171 404 5999.)

I have no involvement with Dave or his studio apart from being a very satisfied client. The PA is stretched to 6mm thick, and the placement is perfect!
