About 3 months ago, I got back into the piercing scene after being gone for almost 4 years. Previously I had had my tongue and eyebrow done when I was 18. Now being 22, I needed piercings that would be less visible as it was not acceptable in my place of work. So 3 months back I had gotten both of my nips done. They healed very quickly and I was eager to get a new piercing.

Initially, because of inexperience, I wanted to get it done in an 8 gauge. But after talking to my piercer buddy Jason, I decided to get it done as a 14 gauge and stretch it down when it was ready.
I talked the piercing over with my wife and she was excited about me getting a genital piercing especially one that she could enjoy too. After talking to several girls about getting done, I found that talking to my wife was definitely the right thing to do as some girls are repulsed by the idea, and some are intrigued. So this is not one that is good to bring home as a surprise. It could mean removing it every time you want to have sex.
Also after talking to Jason, who has a frenum ladder done on the top side of his penis, I decided to also get a frenum ladder done, but on the bottom (as is traditionally done). I was syked; I wanted to get it done as soon as possible. I told Jason to have the equipment ready for the weekend.
Friday night came and I ventured over to Jason's place to get it done. As a fore thought, I trimmed down enough so that my hair would not get in the way of the piercing. I have to admit that I was really nervous, I was about to have a needle physically abuse my penis. Not something you like to find yourself doing, and as my friend put it... you're fuckin nuts.
After washing off with some surgical scrub, I dropped my drawers and laid back on the table, and after a jokes about my penis sucking itself in from fear, Jason measured out and marked where the three piercings were going to be. After marking, he had me stand up to make sure that they hung the right way. I was pleased with the placement and sat back down. I picked out some Amon Amarth, viking metal to the uninitiated, to play while I was getting it done. 3 piercings later it was done, on a scale of pain, it hurt slightly more than my eyebrow but way less than my nips. It looked really good; he had used 1 inch 14g straight barbells. The piercings themselves were about 5/8 inch long, but the extra length on the barbells was good for healing, or so he said, (I found that they snag alot on my boxers). I was really down that I had to wait around 2 weeks to try them out, but I figured I could manage.
A week has gone since I got them done, all in all the discomfort afterwards is minimal, morning wood is the worst part because I always sleep on my stomach. and you occasionally snag it on your boxers, in hind sight tighty whiteys might have been a better undergarment choice for healing. As far as aftercare is concerned, I had used saltwater soaks on all my other piercings, but I find for this one it is alittle cumbersome. So I fell back to soap and water 2x a day and it has been working great. Shortly after I had the piercing done I ordered 12 gauge barbells that were also shorter than the originals so that the barbells would be completely covered by the skin leaving only the balls outside the skin. Today I finally got the jewelry in and decided tonight I would attempt to stretch from the 14g to 12g.
I boiled the new jewelry in water and washed the piercings with soap and water. I put a little bit of A&D ointment on the new jewelry to add alittle bit of lube. The stretching was easy, as I removed the old barbell, I pushed the new one in behind it. No problems what so ever. I really like the new barless look better. It looks like I'm constantly wearing a studded condom... just with bigger studs. My wife absolutely flipped when I showed her, apparently she didn't think that I would get it done, but she is really excited and can't wait till it heals enough to use.
I plan on stretching to a 10g and maybe to an 8g, but for now 12g suits me just fine. Oh and as far as having sex or beating off, I managed to get away with carefully beating off 36 hours after I got it done, It has become more comfortable as time has progressed, I still have not tried sex as I feel that a ripped frenum is much worse than the agony of waiting.
