Having had my Prince Albert pierced for roughly 2 years, recently I had thought about getting something else done. Something visible was out of the question due to family and friends' expectations, so I started looking at more genital possibilities.

However I never really seriously considered it because I had no reason to get it done, and I thought my girlfriend would object. She had been very understanding about my Prince Albert, but I doubted that she would want me having more metal in that area!
I had considered getting my tongue web done, as it could be easily hidden, however having enquired at two local piercing studios I was advised not to, because they easily rip and apparently were not really worth the money. This I thought was the definite 'NO' to getting any more piercings as I couldn't think of any other suitable area.
So there I was a week or two ago, having just finished my first year at University, when my girlfriend and I start discussing tattoos. It turned out that she would in fact quite like one, but one which could remain hidden. After much persuading she agreed to go ahead with it, and I agreed to go along with her and get two scrotal ladder piercings. She seemed ok with me getting the piercings, however I was still a little apprehensive as to what she would think of them when they were done.
So last Saturday we both headed off (very nervously) to Steel Paintbrush in Durham. We had done some research and the staff seemed really friendly and the studio itself very clean. They had advised both of us previously on placement, cost and the procedure, and had been very helpful in booking an appointment. We stopped off in town beforehand to fill our stomachs and buy some lucozade just in case she felt faint after the tattoo. When we got there, the piercing studio was empty, and no one seemed to be there, which got us a little panicked. However after about 10 minutes the piercer turned up and explained that the tattooist was on his way and would be there shortly.
We signed the necessary forms and then once the tattooist arrived, headed off into our separate rooms. The lady explained she was going to do the higher one with a slightly smaller ring, which I agreed would look really good. So I dropped my trousers and lay down on the table/bed thing. It did feel a little weird dropping my trousers in front of a girl other than my girlfriend, but she seemed so professional I didn't really mind. She marked both piercings out, and then let me check them to make sure they were ok. Then she sprayed the area to numb it slightly and applied the clamps, which didn't hurt at all. Finally she told me to take a nice deep breath and pierced when I breathed out. The pain was quick but sharp, and made me jump. The second time was the same, but much less painful. I hardly felt anything when she put the rings in, just a little discomfort. Finally she put the balls in, which was a little painful because it took a while and then told me to sit up and take a look.
I loved them instantly. The placement, at the bottom of my shaft was brilliant and the different sized rings made them look even better. She gave me some tissue to put down my boxers in case of bleeding and then I paid and was off. The piercings cost £70 altogether which is quite a bit, but well worth it. The service was extremely professional and I would definitely consider going there again.
As soon as we got back to college, my girlfriend and I showed each other our new mods. Thankfully, although the piercings were still quite messy, she loved the placement of both piercings and seemed to genuinely like them. Her tattoo was also very nice and so we were both very happy-even if I couldn't quite walk normally for a few hours!
Its now 3 days later and I have had very few problems. The piercings bled a little the first day, but stopped very quickly. I have been cleaning the piercings twice daily with a basic antibacterial soap and they seem to be healing nicely. There has been very little pain, except for sometimes in the morning or when I have worn tighter trousers. Walking and physical activity has not been a problem unless I do lots of it and most of the time, I forget they are even there. I would recommend this piercing(s) to anyone considering them ,they are relatively pain free and easy healing as well as looking great, whether you just have one or more. It is also ideal as the ladder can always be added to later if you get more adventurous.
