I had been mulling over the idea of getting a piercing for a little over a year. When I began looking into the various types of piercings that I could get a web search led me to bmezine. I was amazed at all the different types of piercings that I could get. I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of choices that I had. I eventually decided on getting a genital piercing, because of the ease of hiding it from my somewhat conservative parents and the relatively painless experience most people described.

I eventually narrowed my possibilities to either a frenum or a prince albert. I liked the look of both of those but I was not sure which one to get so I continued to read about each of them. I went back and read through various experiences and what to expect from my new piercing. The idea of having to learn a new way to go to the bathroom did not appeal to me that much so I ruled out the PA and settled on getting the frenum. But because of my financial situation at that time it was not possible for me to get pierced.
Flash foreword a few months to me sitting in my room trying to think of what to spend some extra money on. It was then that I remembered my desire to be pierced. Once more I came to bmezine this time to find a piercing studio in my area. I eventually decided on Infinite Body Piercing in South Philadelphia. With my mind made up I went to sleep intent on getting my piercing the next day.
The next morning I got up and ate a meal as per the advice I gained from reading various experiences. I leave out my house and make my way to the bus stop to continue my journey to the piercing studio. I could feel my anxiety level rising the closer I got to my destination. Was I sure that I wanted to do this? Was I sure that I wanted to pay someone to jab my most sensitive organ with a sharp piece of metal? Yes I was sure. I go in and speak with they guy at the counter. I tell him what I want, pay, and sit down to wait for them to call my name. Having paid my money I was pretty much past the point of no return.
My name was called and I followed my piercer back to the room. The room looked almost like a doctor's office. I hoped up on the table and dropped my pants. My piercer proceeded to clean me down, change his gloves, mark the entrance/exit holes, change his gloves again, clamp me off then proceed to pierce my penis.
I was surprised at how painless the procedure was a quick pinch and it was all over. My piercer gave me some tips on aftercare and left with my new piercing in my pants and a great sense of accomplishment in my chest.
A few months later I once again felt the desire to get a piercing. Since I felt the single barbell looked quite lonely I decided that I would get two more piercings on my frenum, giving me a small frenum ladder. The following day I repeated the same series of events that I did before getting my first piercing. And even though I had gone through this before I still felt nervous. I guess that is something that never really goes away, no matter how used to body piercing you may be.
I arrive at the studio and go in and tell them what I want. They were rather busy at the time so I had to wait a little bit longer than last time. I ended up with a female piercer which at first was cause for a bit of hesitation, but then I released that have had female doctors/nurses see me naked in the past so there was really nothing to worry about.
She took her time to alleviate my nervousness and made sure to explain each step of the procedure. Two quick pinches and it was all done and I was the proud owner of a three rung frenum ladder.
Having three barbells in my penis was definitely a different experience from having one. Tight pants for example were definitely not something I could wear for the first week or so, but once initial healing was done I was able to return to my usual wears.
It has been about a year since I got my first piercing and I don't regret getting it, or the subsequent ones, at all. Sure people might look at me a little bit differently once they find out I have them but I could care less about that I did this for me, not for anyone else.
