I have been contemplating a submission on my scrotal ladder for some time now, just didn't know where to start. Then it dawned on me, I had already started in my experience "Starting from the Bottom" a story about my second and third guiches that were pierced a year ago by Jody when she was at Next!. Thought I would stop there, but things were not meant to be. Nelinda at Next! pierced me with my first hafada, just like doing a lobe, it was that easy, I was hooked. Nelinda gave me seven more hafadas and the top three of the ladder. The decision to cover the scrotal sac with rings was made, after all, everyone needs a hobby, and this is mine.

At this time, May of 2002, Jody left Next! in order to start another shop, Anatomic Adornments, I decided to follow as I enjoyed her piercing technique and I had come to know her quite well during the years of me asking questions at Next! We continued from the bottom in the beginning of July when Anatomic opened, Jody had pierced my pubic (Time to go Pubic) the week before and the ladder was continued. The plan was to do the ladder with rings to the bottom of the penis, stretch to eight gauge and fill in the remainder of the with smaller rings also stretched to eight gauge.

We continued the piercings at a pace of one or two a week, stopping for a break to do the septum (My first "Facial") and on into early September when the body decided that it had enough for a while, it made its decision as I was laying on the table and Jody had already marked the spot, I was embarrassed and Jody was understanding. Seeing as I had planned to have the apadravya (Pow! Right in the Pisser.) done for my birthday, it was time for a break anyway. After a couple of weeks without having been pierced, the body was actually craving to be pierced again. I think that I was becoming addicted to being pierced! Only three were done in September and early October, my birthday was in the last half of October and I wanted my body to be rested for the apadravya. Unfortunately, it wasn't to be done till November so a daith (Dainty Daith) was done for the birthday instead.

A few more were done between the daith and the apadravya, which turned out to be a very well behaved piercing, the last five were done in a stretch of ten days. These were at the part of the scrotal that is closest to the ground, the ones beside them went easy, and so I thought that these would be as well. The piercings went fine but realization that I may have rushed to finish the ladder became apparent, as these were not as well behaved as most of my piercings had been. A very uncomfortable two weeks followed, sea salt soaks at least twice a day became the order of the day. Everything is going well at this time though.

The hafadas have been stretched to eight gauge half inch rings, except for two which will be done soon. At the present time the ladder consists of twenty two rings ranging from half inch twelve gauge to three quarter inch eight gauge. These will be stretched to eight gauge five eights rings in the near future and the sides will be continued. I do not plan on being pierced at the rate that I have been during the last year, having had close to forty piercings in total over the last twelve months.

One of the benefits of having a regular piercer is that you develop a high comfort level. Jody and I no longer really need to discuss what is happening during the piercing unless it is something new and I have questions about what may be different about it. I know what comes next during the procedure and what I have to do next. When she is ready to do the actual piercing my breathing has already slowed and deepened as I prepare for the piercing, the gentle touch of the needle to my skin tells me that the piercing will be on the next breath out. The other benefit is that, during our discussions about piercing, and with the piercings being done on a weekly basis, she has the opportunity to observe the healing process. Until she told me, it had not occurred to me that I was not the only one gaining knowledge in our many discussions.

Even though she has performed two dozen piercings on me, and I have been pierced over fifty times including the five retirees and the six hooks for the suspension, I still look forward to the ball being placed in the ring, after that, it's all good and I am happy, though I am still not fond of the actual piercing. In fact, it was only a couple of piercings ago that I actually watched one being done. I plan on doing number fifty myself with Jody making sure that everything goes alright, it will be the second one of the session because I want to make sure I do it right. For me, it will be another milestone.

Trust in the piercer is important, I have that, I have also found a piercer that is willing to try different things as well, knowing that we both will have done our own research and have spent much time discussing what we will be doing before we actually do it. I have not spent much time on the piercing procedures as there have been so many. What I will say about them is that each and every single time, the jewellery and all the reusable tools came from the sealed packages they were autoclaved in, the needles were all single use as were the other things needed for the procedure, Jody also went through many glove changes during the different stages of all the procedures.

The end result? In a couple of years I will have a sac that will be covered in steel rings resembling chain mail, ambitious? yes. I also have plans to connect with the pubic with a combination of shaft piercings and beading, just not sure on that yet. I do however, plan on getting an ampallang and one or more dydoes I plan on getting as many different genital piercing as possible. Other plans include adding a daith to the right ear, trebling my nipple rings and perhaps repiercing my navel. I have also decided on the tattoos that will also be added in the next year or two. The coming year will be busy and I plan on many more submissions and the projects continue.

As I am sure that many of you may have realized, I am hooked on Anatomic Adornments. In my opinion, it is one of the best piercing shops in the Vancouver area and I highly recommend any of their staff. You may also have realized that I enjoy talking about my mods and body modification/adornment in general. I am always willing to answer any questions and will appreciate any comments that you might have. Feel free to contact me if you wish.

Thanks for reading, take care.
