Well, I guess it all started one day at work. (My girlfriend and I work at a local fast food restaurant for extra money) one day while working she asked me if I would ever get a genital piercing as a joke. (There had been some rumors about a few students getting this done, which is what made her ask.) I said no way I would never get that done. At the time I had never had anything pierced so she didn't push the issue very much. I told her if there were not that many possible complications that I would think about it. I did a little research the next day hoping to find several things that could go wrong so that I could show them to her and kill the idea completely. I'm not sure if it's good or bad but my searching did the opposite thing I was planning on. After some time online not only had I found almost no bad news and I wanted to get a genital piercing. I brought the positive and negative news that I had found to my girlfriend and she seemed excited that I was thinking about getting this done.

My main concerns were finding a good parlor, the pain, and avoiding an infection. As for finding a good parlor I looked to the association of professional piercers. The only place in Minnesota was Saint Sabrinas Parlor in Purgatory. I looked up several different piercings on B.M.E. and found that I liked the horizontal transverse lobe piercing. I made an appointment and went in. but due to the shape of my ear I was unable to get a transverse lobe piercing. I opted to just get a standard 12g lobe piercing. It was quick easy and everything was done professionally which is what I was looking for. I decided then that the next time my girlfriend went out of town I was going to go get a genital piercing.

She went out of town for thanksgiving so I went in for a consultation 2 days before thanksgiving. It is required to go in if you are planning or getting a doyodes I went in but unfortunately again I did not have the correct build to get that done so I opted for 2 frenums to be done the very next day by Patrick Condon. (Who had also done my lobe piercing.) I got there about 15min early. I filled out the same paperwork gave them my ID and went back to pick out jewelry. After some talking with Patrick I decided to get 2 10g barbells I paid for both piercings and I was told that if the pain was too much to get the second piercing I would be refunded for the second one. Then we went in to the back room I was told to just pull my pants down to my knees and lay down. It was a little weird sitting there with my pants down in front of a stranger and a guy at that, but it was worth it. I was not about to do this to myself. First He cleaned up the area and made the marks I looked them over and agreed that they were ok there and laid back down. He put the clamp on witch was not painful or uncomfortable at all. I'm not saying that I would wear them all the time but it was not bad. He then told me to start taking heavy breaths and on the third inhale he pierced the first one it hurt a little just a little worse than the lobe had been, but still just a quick pinch. He put the barbell in and stretched the skin over the barbell. He then asked me if it had been too painful to get another one done. I told him that I wanted to go for it and he continued to clamp the second spot. The second time he put the clamps on it hurt a little because it was pulling on the first piercing. He lined up and asked me to start breathing again, and as before he pierced me on the third breath. The second one hurt a little more because the skin was a little tender from the first piercing.

He showed me cleaned up put some gauze on it and told me He was done I got dressed tipped him 20 bucks and left. For the next few days it was a little sore but it never hurt. I had no problem walking around or hiding that I had gotten something done from my family while I was at the thanksgiving dinner. I only had a little blood the morning after the piercing, and even that was only enough to cause a little scab like crust around one of the barbells. I plan on getting one more frenum on the bottom three on the top and P.A. I also have an ear project that I am working on and a few other plans also.
