Conformist to Colander in Five Months |
| ||||||||||||||||
I cann't remember when I first became interested in genital piercing but it goes back a long way. New Zealand in the 60's & 70's was unbelieveably conservative & my first (& only) tattoo - a snake & sword on my forearm was sufficently non conformist to have me pigeon holed as a criminal radical in the minds of judgemental god botherers.A male sporting even earrings was instantly recognised as a "poofter" or worse - there were no rewards for straying away from the norm.
Fast forward thirty years, between relationships & at the tender age of 50 I was still toying with the idea of having something pierced. In my opinion visible & facial piercings are the domain of young people & good on them! Many hours on the internet, mostly at BME, indicated that a PA was a good starting point - noticeable but not too painful or long in healing.
I am fortunate enough to have Hamish at Fleshwound in Wellington within an hours drive of home so I made an appointment for 15th Jan this year. Some experiences described on BME indicate that there is a wide gap between good & bad piercers but I was in luck - Hamish is a professional - clean, confidant & technically able.
I had the expected reservations & pre pierce nerves but probably few wouldn't at the thought of having their pride & joy holed. The receiving tube felt strange & the less said of my thoughts on first glimpsing the 8ga needle the better. The actual proceedure was far less painful than I expected - granted it seemed like an eternity but in probably less than two minutes I sported a 8ga, 16mm BCR in my cock. The pain would be better described as "stinging" as opposed to "excruciating". No problems when urinating - I bled on & off for about four hours but that was anticipated. Healing was a breeze - salt water soaks& two showers a day using anti bacterial liquid soap on the piercing. The brusing, although quite bad initially, faded within ten days & a few weeks later I'm making another appointment at Fleshwound.
This time a frenum - probably about the same level of pain as the PA. At this stage the idea of creating a ladder seemed inviting. Between then & the 15th March I added another 5 (3 in one sitting) leaving me with a ladder of 5 under my cock & one on top close to the glans, all 10ga x 12mm barbells. By this stage the weight was starting to build up - although I hardly noticed the difference with the first couple of piercings 4 grams here & 8 grams there starts to make the feeling felt. The top was the hardest to heal & even now I semi expect it to migrate at some stage. When it was still really red & swollen after two weeks Hamish suggested cold salt water compresses several times a day - it worked. Most of the problem is that all men's pants be they boxers or jeans have a raised stitching down the centre in the front. These caused irritation & many times I have cursed the designers - they should be bent gently over a greased goat & sodomised to death.
My PA has been stretched to 6ga (now that's what I call pain) & I've added two BCRs to a proposed scrotal ladder. As a layman it seems to me that the further from the glans the less the pain - I barely felt the scrotal piercings but as a downside they bled like hell - another box of tissues down the shitter! Another personal observation is that the 3rd to 5th days seem to be the worst in terms of discomfort. With the ladder I found non stick dressings over my ball sac allowed the freshly pierced frenums to move & breathe. My only real bitch to date is the narrow range of jewellery available in NZ - it is probably because of our small market but I found that any variations of ball size to go with any BCR were impossible to source locally & importation seemed an impossible hassle.
As to the future? I will definitely stretch the PA up two more stages to 2ga. Probably a full scrotal ladder but with a cut off point for any more piercings of 30th Sept - I am less than enthusiastic about spending the rest of my life with my genitals soaking in a cup of salt water. One year is enough.
The obvious question - is it worth it? I like the look of the piercings & my new partner raves about the effects of the frenum ladder. She was apprehensive at first but that wore off quickly. As an extrovert I can also give total assurance that banging your PA on the bar at your local watering hole certainly gains attention & speeds up service.
Cheers
