My Frenum Ladder

I've been getting pierced for quite a few years now. I'm 25 and I did my first piercing on myself at 17........so anyways up until about a few months ago I had everything pierced except my penis. Finally after much consideration, I decided it was "time". I woke up one day and decided I was gonna get my "member" skewered.....but where? I was considering an ampallang. That had me kinda shaky though. Finally, after a little research, I decided I would "dip a toe in the water" if you will. I settled on four frenums.

I'm a piercing apprentice at Rad-a-Tat Tattoo, in Manhattan, KS. So I decided what better shop to get pierced at than where I work. I've observed hundreds of procedures by Heather (my teacher)so I didn't have any doubts to the quality of the work. The only thing that had me kind of anxious was where the piercings were going (ugh!!)

The day I decided I wanted my frenums done, I went to work business as usual. I was at the shop for a few hour doing my usual routine. Finally when my courage was up, I explained to Heather what I wanted done. She seemed genuinely enthused about the idea. I explained to her that I wanted for frenums done in one sitting. She said it wouldn't be a problem.

As far as jewelry goes, I opted for 12ga 5/8" barbells. Once the choice was made, she told me to set up for the piercing (the life of an apprentice!) I washed my hands, gloved up and laid out iodine prep-pads, a pen, forceps, vaseline, needles, jewlery, tape, and bandages on a stainless steel cart.....let me tell ya....it's kind of a crazy feeling to bring out all this hard-ware and know it's all about go in your most sacred body part. I was starting to feel uneasy, but i told Heather I was ready any ways. She entered the piercing room, right after she washed her hands, and gloved up. I was told to drop my pants and lie back on the table. Heather then proceded to iodine me. The ladder was to be put on the under side of my shaft, so she proceeded to mark accordingly. Once she got done marking me she asked what I thought. After looking at the lay-out for a few, I decided it was perfect. After marking me she change gloves. Then she took the needles, forceps, and jewelry out of their autoclave bags. The forceps were put on and everything was lined up. I took a deep breath, and let it out slowly.....pop......the needle was through. It really didn't hurt too bad. I wasn't like petting a bunny rabbit, but it wasn't as bad as getting poked in the eye with a sharp stick either. I would say it was about as bad as getting your navel done. Then with one fluid motion she chased the barbell in behind the needle, and disposed of the needle in a sharps container. She continued the three times from just below the head to about 1/3 down my package. Once we were done, I took a look at it. I was extremely pleased. Then it dawned on me,"Since I'm going to be out of commision (if you know what I mean *wink wink*) I should get a few more done". I bounced the idea off of her and she thought it was a cool idea. Heather got four more autoclaved needles and barbells and carried on with the procedure. After about ten more minutes, I was the proud owner of an 8 rung frenum ladder. Hether was aces, totally profesional. Then she asked me if she could take a pic for her portfolio, I obliged. She bandaged me up and went over the after-care with me, then I cleaned up the piercing station (once again, htat whole apprentice thing!) She had me sit in the back for a couple of hours to let my johnson chill out. I washed it and changed the bandage, suprisingly, there was minimal blood, but I was a little sore believe you me. It stayed sore for the first couple days.

When I told my friends what I had done, they thought I was nuts...oh well. I had all kinds of responses ranging from,"yuck' to "neat-o", to "why". Oh yeah, and a few ladies were um.....intrigued *wink-wink* A woman I met was kind enough to let me try it out on her, unfortunatly it wasn't healed enough so I had to stop. Then about a month later I tried again. It felt great! Afterwards, during the "pillow-talk" I asked her what she thought. She was very pleased.

As far as after-care, I would soak my penis in warm water to get the crusty's off. Then i would wash it with anti-bacterial soap (liquid Dial.......great stuff). I did this twice a day. For the first couple days, i also bandaged it....just to be safe. Here is a valuable lesson learned if you ever have to put a bandage on you penis before you go to sleep.........tape it in such a way that it accomedates nocturnal erections!!! That's a lesson I had to learn the hard way....it woke me up out of a dead sleep......not fun. I carried on with my after-care ritual for about 6 weeks without a single problem...then I noticed the frenum closest to the head was starting to reject.....I ended up having to take that one out.....hey, you win some, you lose some. After about another month I was totally healed.

Here are a few lessons learned-

  1. DO NOT try to have sex for at least a month while it's healing. That REALLY, REALLY hurts!!! Take it easy.
  2. It's a pain to get a condom on, but it's possible.
  3. Use plenty of lube when you use your ladder.
  4. Watch getting in and out of cars.
  5. If you're into jogging chill out for the first couple weeks.
  6. Refer to the bandage incedent earlier in the story.
  7. Once healed, sex is really cool.
In conclusion, I'm extremely happy with my ladder. My only regret is that i didn't get it sooner. Shortly there after, I ended up getting a PA, 4 sac piercings, and a guiche. But that's another story for another time. If anyone has any questions or comments, email me at neckhead@hotmail.com
