About 3-4 months ago, I decided to get my scrotum pierced. I decided on this specific piercing because I am only 16, and my parents will not let me get ANY piercings, so I needed to get one that they would not be able to see. Naturally, a genital piercing falls into that category (I should hope!).
At A Glance Author anonymous Contact anonymous@bme.anon When Three months ago Artist A friend (who is a piercer) Studio Friends basement Location Maryland I have a good friend (lets just call her "Pam") who works at a local tattoo/piercing studio, and who also does piercing "off the book" for people who don't have parental consent. I let her know that I wanted her to pierce me, and she agreed to do it.
Later, after school ("Pam" goes to my school), "Pam" drove me and some friends over to another friends house, where we would be doing the piercing. I sat down on a couch in the basement, and she cleared the room of everybody except for her and 2 of my good friends (I was very glad that she had done this, as it made me more comfortable). At this point she put on her gloves and began pulling out all of her instruments she would need and setting them up, and I started to become very nervous. She told me I should take it out, which I did, and she began cleaning off the area of my scrotum that she would be piercing. She took out a marker and marked the entrance and exit points, which looked even to me. She than picked up the sterile 12g needle, and told me to deeply inhale, than exhale, than inhale (Ouch!), than exhale. She had put the needle in before I even knew it! I could feel it, although there was very, very minimal pain or bleeding, but I refused to look down. A friend, w ho was in the room, asked me if it was very bad, and I tried to answer "No", but found myself unable to speak, probably just because of the shock of it all. "Pam" quickly inserted a 14g CBR into the back of the needle and slid it into the piercing, removing the needle. She worked on closing the CBR with the bead in it, which seemed to be a pain in the ass, but was not at all painful.......... I was just worried the CBR closing pliers would slip and clamp down on my balls. Of course they never did, and when she got it closed I looked down and loved what I saw........ I was finally pierced!
All in all, the procedure was not very painful at all and I am very glad I had it done. I plan on getting a few more done in the future (I'm not sure how many, probably four more though) to form a scrotal ladder, as well as a Prince Albert (although I plan on waiting a little while for that one), and definitely plan on going back to "Pam" because it was such a positive experience and she did everything correctly and I felt like she knew what she was doing. The area was a little sore for a few hours, and I was walking a bit funny, and I had to sleep on my back that night, but other than that it was fine. The next day was not painful at all; in fact it felt as if it had never even happened! It is now pretty much healed, and it is placed perfectly (just below my penis), and I love it! It is a great piercing to whip out and chase your friends around with (HAHA), or to smack someone in the face with, and it doesn't really seem to give me any problems. Although I now realize I sh ould have cleaned it everyday with sea salt and water, I did not know this at the time and so I was just cleaning it in the shower with water and my normal soap and by rotating the CBR several times, which seemed to work fine for me.
Scrotal piercings also stretch very easily. About 3 or 4 weeks ago I bought some new jewelry to put in, thinking it was 14g, when in reality it was 16g. I inserted it and wore it for about 2 weeks before I noticed my mistake. By that time the hole had closed up to a 16g. I decided I wanted to go back to my old 14g CBR, and so I just lubed it up with Vaseline and put it through. It slid through very easily, and did not hurt. Of course I did not have CBR closing pliers, and so I tried using forceps with medical tape wrapped around the jaws (to prevent scratching the jewelry), and I proceeded to slip and clamp them down onto the skin of my scrotum, TWICE. That, needless to say, was VERY painful, but then again it was the result of me not doing what I was doing properly, so it was my own fault.
If you are considering getting this piercing done, I would say to go for it, just as long as you use a piercer whom you trust and know will do a good job.
