I had always fancied being pierced although my wife at the time was never too keen, this despite her having her belly button done - something I found a real turn on!! I felt deprived that she didn't want me to follow suit. Even at that stage I kept on at her that I wanted a genital piercing. She didn't want to see metal through me (she was either scared or not interested - whatever!!)

My first addition was the simple nipple job. It would be a piercing that, if I did not like it, I could always take it out without too much trouble and pain and it would not notice too much. Being the coward that I was, I did not look as the needle was put through my left nipple. Afterwards, I thought why the hell not? Next time (if there was going to be a next time!) I should watch everything that is going on!!
That was it. My friends were amazed that I had had it done )I had never really mentioned to many of them that that was what I was thinking of doing. Apart from shock, lots of them kept asking questions and I am sure that one or two of them would like to do the same if they had the nerve. It was almost a sense of admiring me for what I had done. I was now hooked and definitely was wanting more. So next came the tattoo. After the initial pain, it became quite a pleasurable experience. I watched every step!! After an hour and a half under the needle, I had a lovely looking dragon drawn on my right shoulder. I felt I had really entered the world of body piercing and tattooing big time. It was something that other people did and not me. Now I was a part of it too. I have not told or shown my parents any of my modifications yet - they are a bit too old for it now!!
Next had to be a genital piercing of some sort. Should I go straight for a Prince Albert or something else instead? All the information and articles on BME did not convince me one way or the other. I had a foreskin so would it get in the way. The only friend I know with a Prince Albert was a relative and I felt that I was not in a position to discuss the pluses and negatives with him. I was on my own.
This made me look at other options - something that would look good, not cause too much pain, could be removed if necessary and would be quite discreet. I had had a conversation with a friend previously who had a ring inserted through his scrotum. BME provided me with lots of pictures and stories to research. This got me thinking and the more I thought about it, the more I wanted one. I wanted a ring through my scrotum. The only thing that was stopping me was the fact that I did a lot of sport and didn't want to be ridiculed in the changing room before and after matches, plus the fact I have quite a high powered job and genital piercings weren't seen as the thing someone like me should have. In the end I decided to take the risk and not worry about what they would say (so far, 6 months on, no one has seen it and if they have nothing has been said - they would probably only jealous that they were not brave enough to have a piercing themselves!!)
Last Christmas, I drove around and sat outside three different piercers without having the nerve to go in. Finally I went back in to see Kev, the guy who had done my tattoo for me. I knew he did body piercing as well. However, after talking to his wife, I find out that he does not do any piercings 'below the belt'. I had got myself all worked up and suddenly felt let down. No problems though, he gave me the name of two piercers who would be happy to oblige. I did not want to make an appointment - I would prefer to just walk in and get it done without being able to back out if I lost my nerve. I drove straight round to the first place. I sat outside for ages deciding whether to go in or not - what was someone like me doing even thinking about getting a genital piercing?? In the end, I plucked up courage and went in. The guy was great. He got out a book and we had a chat about what was available. However, I still was obviously not ready to experience the needle and, after than king him for his time, I walked out still unpierced but feeling quite a fool. Why had I bottled out?
Back to the pictures and stories on BME. The turning point surely came when I met a new girlfriend. One day, the subject of genital piercing came up in conversation. I told her that I had thought about piercing my scrotum but had bottled out. Her response was very encouraging, after all, she found my nipple ring a real attraction. If she was going to like it, then there was no reason why I should not get it done.
So, after work one wet summer's afternoon, I went back to see Ian, the piercer recommended to me by my tattooist and guy I had previously chatted to just six months earlier. I had decided to have a ring inserted in my scrotum in the area below my penis.
Having remembered me from my last visit, Ian and myself discussed what I wanted again and looked once more in his book, just to make sure. He made me feel comfortable and helped me to relax - it is not every day that you go out to get a sharp needle and piece of metal stuck through your genital area!! Before I knew it I was sitting on a chair behind a screen, trousers round my ankles, ready for the action to commence. He explained that the piercing might only last 3/4 months before falling out (over 6 months and still looking good). I decided that I would go for it even if this was the case. Although I did not know whether it was better to or not, I had shaved my scrotum in the morning so that there were no stray hairs to get in the way. It was probably the best thing to do (in fact. I now keep my balls shaved all the time - my girl likes it and I feel much better for it!!) He numbed the area with a cold spray, checked the area with a torch to shine through the skin (he did not want any unnessary accidents!!) to make sure he was not going through any veins and got the ring ready. He got two different sizes ready so he could decide which would be best once the hole was made. he did not want the ring to pull or be too tight once it had been inserted. He wanted it to be as comfortable as possible for me.
This time I watched every step. It was totally wierd seing a needle sticking through my scrotum (but quite a turn on!!) The insertion of the ring felt great - there was no pain at all. No blood either which was good. Since my nipple piercing, I had really wanted to see how the job was done. Now I knew. Five minutes later I was on my way home. The next day was slightly uncomfortable, probably as the piercing was beginning to heal. The skin scabbed a bit, but regular soaking and washing in the shower kept the area clean. The piercing nevers heals totally, so I do still get the white crust around it occassionally but nothing to cause any discomfort. I have continued to do all my sporting activities without any discomfort and you do not feel it most of the time.
It's great to lay in bed and just fiddle with the ring (both alone and for my new partner - she loves it) and when I'm sitting in a meeting I can feel the ring in my trousers. I love it. When it comes out, a new one is going straight back in.
If you are looking for a discreet and non painful genital piercing, this is definitley one I would recommend you go for. It is simple to get done and a real turn on for the ladies!! Go for it!!!
I now want more - the ultimate Prince Albert is very much on the cards - I just have to decide when will be the best time to go... watch this space!!!
