When	It just happened

I have always wanted a piercing, but nothing too obvious – something secret. Genital piercings have always been a secret ambition/fantasy that I always said to myself that I would someday pursue.

When I was younger (about 15) I pierced my own ear as my parents would not let me get it done and did not approve – everyone had one and I wanted one too. It was a strange, slightly painful yet extremely fulfilling experience, to have actually pierced a hole through a part of my body and to then insert a stud earring. Of course, I did not have the proper tools, just a large sewing needle and the stud itself – I gave up on the needle and just pushed the stud through in the end!

After seeing my new earring my younger brother wanted one too, so I pierced his as well. I have to say that it wasn't as pleasant experience as doing it to myself, it took ages and was really tough and judging by the noises he was making and the expression on his face it must have hurt! We got there in the end and we both still have the holes to prove it (I'm now 32 and he is 30) although neither of us wears an earring now.

Just lately I have had the urge to get a genital piercing and I have been particularly drawn toward a scrotal ladder. I think they look so cool, so neat and shouldn't get in the way too much during those most intimate times, I also like the idea of how it would feel – especially the heavier rings. Eventually, I want a ladder that starts just below the base of my penis, right the way down and underneath, finishing where my scrotum ends between my legs.

After a large amount of research I decided I would go for it but I would do it myself as I didn't relish the idea of asking for it at the local studio or getting my balls out in front of a complete stranger. I also discovered that the type of piercing I wanted would be a considerable investment – much cheaper if you do it yourself and far more rewarding.

The hardest part of the procedure turned out to be finding a supplier of the correct type of needles (12 gauge intravenous cannula), living in the UK these seemed to be extremely difficult to locate. Eventually after scouring the Internet I found a supplier at a reasonable price but had to purchase fifty of them! The rings were far easier to locate and I purchased three Ball Closure Rings (10mm diameter 12 gauge surgical steel).

This morning the needles arrived, everything was set and I decided that today would be the day. I had been looking forward for this for so long and now the moment had arrived I spent the morning pottering about summoning up the courage to proceed.

So, after a long hot shower I got everything ready – needles, antiseptic, rings etc.

Well there I was, scrotal skin pulled taught in one hand, a frighteningly large hollow needle in the other and my dick taped up (to keep it out of the way!). I have to say at this point that the needle was quite a size and was a bit of a worry!

Anyway, after a deep breath I went for it and pushed the needle in. I felt it pierce the skin and it was no where near as painful as I had expected. I continued to push and could quickly see the very tip if the needle coming out of the other side. A final, gentle push and the needle was through although the rubber sheath on the needle was not. This proved to be harder to get through the hole but, with a little easing and slight twisting of the needle, through it came. At this point I couldn't believe how quick and easy it was – there I was with a needle through my sack and it barely hurt at all.

I then withdrew the needle through the rubber sheath, inserted the end of the ring into the sheath and pulled it all through – how easy was that!! What a buzz, I had decided to do the other two if the first went OK so away I went again.

The next two piercings were just as simple as the first – now to insert the balls into the ring (a bit tricky) and there they were, three rings starting just below the base of my penis – wonderful. There was very little blood and it stopped very quickly – just a couple of spots on the towel. The placement wasn't too bad either, perfectly in line although the last one is a little close to the one above on the exit side – all in all, not a bad job.

So I sit here now typing this and I can't believe how comfortable it all feels. There was virtually no pain during the procedure and there is absolutely none at the moment. I realise that now it extremely important to keep the area clean and as I tend to heal quickly hopefully things should be cool in a few weeks.

I can't wait to have my boyfriend play with them – he doesn't really like the idea but I know he will love them as much as I do when he sees them.

Three down, not sure how many it will take to complete, but with 47 needles at my disposal the sky's the limit!!!
