I'm writing this story mainly for the benefit of those who, like me, are interested in genital piercing and are looking for a simple, straightforward explanation. I'm 22 years old, and I found BME about 5 years ago when I was looking for information on nipple piercing. I have a 10ga ring in my nipple and, aside, from a tattoo on my back, that is my only other mod to speak of. Anyway, if you're in the "male piercing" section of BME, you must be curious about what it's like to have a ring (or 3) down there. Hopefully, I'll be able to give you a pretty good idea.

Initially, I thought about a PA, but my girlfriend gets frequent yeast and/or urinary-tract infections, so I thought I didn't want to aggravate the problem by putting a ring in my dick. This led me to think about getting some scrotal rings. I talked to John at Staircase when he stretched my nipple from 12-10ga, and he told me he'd done scrotal piercings before and that he'd do them for me if I wanted them. My girlfriend, who thought the scrotal rings would be sexy, agreed to get her clit-hood pierced if I got them. We decided to do them the following week. Because she wanted a female piercer and I wanted a male piercer, we went to two different places. We also decided it would be fun to get them on the same day, and since she had made an appointment at Curiosa, she went first. She was a champ, as usual, and made it look easy. Then it was my turn.

We drove across town to Staircase and I spoke to John. I told him I was ready to get the scrotal rings we had talked about a week before. While he went into the back to get some jewelry for me to look at, I dealt with all the forms. The guy at the front desk asked me what kind of piercing I was getting and I said, "scrotal." I hope you, too, will be able to enjoy the amazement and looks from the other people in the studio when you say that word. Suddenly you aren't just some random guy who's come in to be pierced, you're a super-human deity to those around you.

John came back with the jewelry and showed me my options. He suggested getting two smaller 1/2" rings on the sides (12ga) and a 5/8" (12ga) in the middle. I thought that would look good, and my girlfriend agreed. He got things set up, and then took me back to be pierced. John is very professional and he's got a very sanitary atmosphere about the place. He marked me up and, after conferring with my girlfriend and me on the placement, we were ready to pierce!

Okay, so after taking a big breath, the first needle went through the left side. It was a sharp stick, and hurt a little more than I had expected (it was a different kind of pain than a nipple pierce). John asked me how I was doing, and I told him, "fine." After a moment's rest...Another breath and a needle through the right side—this one hurt a little more because I knew what to expect. "Two down!" said John—his enthusiasm throughout was very comforting. Another breath, and through the middle. The middle one hurt more because they use more skin for a bigger ring. So what I can say for pain is...if you pinch your scrotum it doesn't seem like it is too sensitive. Even a vigorous pinch with your hand doesn't cause much pain on the scrotal skin. Don't be fooled, it does hurt...just not that bad. If you have a cool piercer, and one who is going to coach you along, it's really a rewarding experience. Some of the stories I had read on BME suggested that Hafadas were either Middle Eastern or Scottish in origin. I can see it being a rite of passage into manhood—I certainly feel stronger and more virile.

As far as the pain afterwards—nothing too unexpected. Getting into your car becomes a delicate process, and walking can be uncomfortable for the first day or two, but it's really not so bad. I would caution anyone who rides a bike or a skateboard to let the piercing heal before trying any of these activities, however.

Anyway, I hope that answers any questions. I've had the rings for four days, and no major problems. I clean with an unscented glycerin soap, and do one or two saltwater soaks a day. There was a little swelling, but nothing major, and they look great! My girlfriend and I are both ready to enjoy them—but the word is 2 weeks before physical contact (which hurts more than the actual piercing). Although I don't think there will be any heightened sexual sensation from these piercings, they really do make your scrotum look awesome. I'll be happy to answer any questions you have about this piercing or explain any part in more detail. Just email me!

Until then, good luck with your mods, and take it easy.
