This is my second attempt to write this experience, the first time I was about 90 words short so I will try to make it up since this is a week after the piercing was done. BME doesn't seem to have as many Hafada experiences so, I'm going to give it a go.

Last weekend was the BME Philly get together, I drove up from DC and met Jim O at the Franklin Institute. Jim was a great host, we were the only ones that showed up at the museum though. He told me everyone would be at Infinite at noon, it was now about 11:00 AM. We took in the museum and were not impressed. The funny thing is we found some online computers and spent most of the time updating our IAM pages, total computer junkies. One other BMEr showed up and we headed for Infinite.

When I got to the studio it was just opening up and other BME people were wandering in. After introductions and lots of animated chatting I brought up the fact that I was thinking of getting a Hafada piercing while I was there. On a side note I would like to let everyone know how impressed I was with Infinite and its staff and its awesome supply of jewelry. I was kind of worried about getting a genital piercing so far from home because I tend to be a bleeder, check out my PA experience. With all my concerns I decided to ask Luis Garcia the head piercer for some advice. Luis, one hell of a nice guy by the way, told me it could go either way from relatively bloodless and comfortable to bloody and very uncomfortable. Gee thanks at least he was being honest. I resumed chatting and thinking and wondering about the 3 hour drive I had in store if it went badly.

Around this time others were reserving appointments and having procedures done. I didn't want to wimp out, and what the hell did I come up here for anyway. So I cornered a very busy Luis and asked him to put me down for the Hafada. I was told it would be about an hour which was cool since we were spending the day. I hooked up with Zippo, Moley, and Mars and we went out for mexican food, I needed to eat anyway since I was getting pierced wasn't I. After I made my appointment I was having second thoughts but at least that was some sort of committment. We came back after lunch and I went to see where on the list I was. Finding out that it was going to be a little while, (more thinking time) I resumed what I was there for, getting to know some great people. Conversation flowed and fun was being had by all.

My number hadn't come up yet but the nice clerk with blue hair, I forgot her name she can kill me when she reads this, suggested that I pick out the jewelry. I selected a 10g 5/8" captured bead ring and went back to waiting. Jewelry selection was big time committment along with paying for everything, I was gonna get the Hafada. Finally Luis called me into the piercing room, it was professionally laid out, clean and comfortable. I took off my pants and asked Luis where he wanted me. Booty on the chair was his response, so I sat down and made myself uncomfortable (I mean comfortable). Luis asked me if I wanted it in the middle, I said no on the right side, traditional placement.

He took out a pen and proceeded to mark my balls for the needle. Mr. happy wasn't very happy and retreated along with my 4g Prince Albert, I looked like a 6 year old. After the marks were made and I was satisfied with the positioning, Luis prepared the needle and forceps. OK here we go, the clamp was placed on the skin of my sack around the markings, a little pinch but not bad. Then the needle, having been pierced before I started deep breathing and Luis counted 1,2,3 Yeeeeooowww. My ass rose a few inches above the seat but it was quick, the jewelry was then put in. There was some bleeding and Luis put some pressure on the wounds, which calmed that down pretty quickly. It looked great, I thanked Luis, tipped him 20 bucks, (always tip your piercer) and went out to join the group with a big smile on my face.

There was very little residule pain or discomfort, I felt great. The group was now ready for some of the planned activities, such as the bowling alley which turned out to be closed and the pool hall which turned out to be a swimming pool. We ribbed Jim pretty bad about all that but were having so much fun just being together it didn't matter. So we went back to Infinite to hang out for the rest of the day, We walked around Philly, no discomfort so far. Then I went to a Diner for dinner with a really cool chick, you know who you are. At about 10:00 PM I decided to call it quits and head back to DC.

The drive wasn't going to badly, although I had to re-adjust myself frequently and didn't make it all the way home. I stopped about 20 miles north of Baltimore, got a room at the Sleep Inn and proceeded to shower and clean my new piercings. I had gotten my nipple pierced the day before, thats 2 in one weekend a record for me so far. The Hafada was a little tender and there had been some bleeding but it wasn't too bad. I was beat I put on the HBO and crashed within the hour. The drive home in the morning was a little worse, there was some swelling and the sitting position I was in made it worse. I should have gone all the way last night. Finally I got home and pretty much relaxed for the rest of the day.

I cleaned my piercing following the aftercare pamphlet Luis provided and have been religiously doing so for the last week. When I got home I made my first attempt to put my experience in writing but came up short a few words and it was erased, damn. Now one week later I am trying again. At least this will give me the oportunity to describe my first week with the Hafada.

Day # 1 Work, Monday was a bitch, I'm in the Nursery business and spent all day bouncing around in a Bobcat (small tractor) no fun and when I got home the swelling had gotten worse. I ended the day walking like I had been riding a horse all day. Day # 2 still quite sore, walking normal though, swelling is going down some. Day # 3 hey its better no problem, then in the afternoon the ring snagged on my underwear ouch that hurt. Day # 4 Im getting use to it and I really think it looks cool, there has been a lot of build up by the time I clean it but it seems to be a success story. Now it is day # 7, the piercing is still red around the edges and it is sore if I snag something on it but as far as I can tell everything is going as scheduled, I'm very pleased.

To wrap this all up and I hope that I wrote 800 words or more this time. Im glad I got the Hafada, glad Luis did it and I got to go to Infinite and totally excited about meeting some of the BME people who have become such a large part of my life. BME get togethers bring this whole community even closer and I had the time of my life last weekend. Now its time to think about my next piercing, septum or tongue both are a challenge due to a job that just doesn't understand, but that won't stop me or hold me back. This is about a lifestyle not a fad or passing fancy. Exciting isn't it?
