Scrotum Piercing on Senior Trip

About four months ago my senior class went on our senior trip to San Diego. My high school was really strict, and piercings were not allowed. Since everyone was happy that they would have freedom in a few days, a few people got piercings. Several got navel piercings, a girl got her tongue pierced, a guy got his cartilage, and another guy got his nipple. Well, after seeing all this, I decided I would outdo everyone and get my scrotum pierced.

Later that night while we were all supposed to stay inside a shopping mall (what a fun senior trip huh? spending the night in a mall), three guys and I left the mall and got a cab to go back up to the Mission Beach area where everyone else got pierced. One of the guys wanted to get a tattoo and I wanted to get pierced and the other two just thought the whole thing was cool.

The atmosphere of the studio was interesting. It had kind of a darker yet more social atmosphere than the typical tattoo/piercing studio. At least five people were behind the desk getting tattoos, and several others were sitting on the bench in the front of the studio.

My friend decided to wait till we got home to get a tattoo, so I went ahead and got the piercing. So I told Marc, the piercer that I wanted a scrotume piercing. He told me that a scrotum piercing doesn't really have any functional purpose, but that a penis piercing does as far as stimulating a girl during sex. That sounded nice, but the idea scared me, so I decided to stick with the scrotum piercing.

So I went back into the piercing room, pulled my pants down, and sat down on the table. He pulled up his little table with all the equipment and unwrapped the new needle and all that other stuff piercers do.

While he was making the marks for the holes, my legs were shaking because I was scared it was going to hurt really bad. My friends had told me that this was going to hurt a lot and I got caught up in that and thought it would hurt a lot too.

I would like to have watched while he did the piercing, but I was too scared, so I just stared up at the ceiling. He told me to do the breathing thing, and on the exhale he stuck the needle through my scrotum. It didn't hurt at all. It stung for about a second and that was it. I don't even remember what it felt like when he put the jewelry in, I just remember it took him a long time to close the ring around the ball.

As soon as I got out of the studio there was no pain at all. I thought there would at least be a little pain when I tried to run (we had to run to the nearest hotel and call a cab to get back to the mall on time)but I could run just fine.

After I got it done, we got a cab back to the mall and I bought some dial soap. As soon as we got on the bus back to the hotel, everyone was looking at me. I had tried to keep this between just a few people but things spread and everyone knew.

When we got back to the hotel everyone wanted to see it. I showed all the guys on my floor. Then I went down to the lobby where all my other classmates were. About 8 of us would pile into the elevator and go up a few floors so I could show them, then we would just go back down. I did this a few times so everyone could see. A girl and a guy both got it on their camcorders.

The only discomfort I had from the piercing was that it was hard to sleep on my side for a few days because my legs would close on the piercing and it made hurt a little bit. It wasn't a big deal though.

Since then I have shown more than 150 people, girls and guys, and my friend's mom. I show anyone who asks to see it. My doctor saw it and said "Ow, wow! When did you get that done, didn't that hurt?" I thought that was pretty funny.

The healing wasn't as good as I had hoped. The piercer told me nothing about sea salt, which I now know is very helpful for healing. I also now realize that I should have used the antimicrobial soap that a lot of piercers include in the aftercare. I developed a kind of gross keloid around the exit hole, but fortunately it is going away and the piercing is pretty much healed.

Some people asked me questions about it such as:

Doesn't that feel annoying when your dick hits it?

-no, it's not annoying, i don't even notice it

Can you feel the ring push against your balls?

-no, I don't think it ever touches them, and even if it did I doubt I would be able to feel it

Overall it was a good experience. This piercing looks very cool, as a couple girls said when I showed them. If you are thinking about a genital piercing that doesn't involve much pain, a scrotal piercing would probably be a good idea.
