I've been interested in body mods for many years now. I've collected miscellaneous ear piercings, have both my nipples done and a large labret. For a while now I've been contemplating genital piercings but where I live the only person that does them is a fat man that is the head of the "Christian tattoo association." I knew I didn't want him touching me so I decided to do it myself. I'd been looking at PA's and frenums for the last half a year and I figured those wouldn't be too hard so I decided on a PA. I was single at the time of this decision so the sex thing was not an issue, but shortly after this decision guess what happened.... I met someone and now I have a girlfriend. Well now that the PA was out of the question I almost gave up on genital mods. Until last week when I was looking at Todd Bertrang's website and noticed his scrotum piercing and remembered I'd really liked it when I saw it before. I knew this was the piercing I would have. For those of you not familiar with Todd's genitals I'll explain, he has a large gauge ring at the very bottom of his scrotum.

I read up on the scrotum piercing experiences, FAQs and the aftercare advice posted on bme and decided that today would be the day. I went and spoke to my piercer about this and talked him into giving me a ten gauge needle and lending me a forceps to use. I guess he figured if I was going to do this I'd might as well do it right. I got home and mowed the lawn. I was about to step into the shower when I decided it was time to pierce myself.

I got all the equipment I would need and placed it on a hand held mirror on a chair I had brought into the bathroom. The clamp took a few tries to get the correct placement for the pierce. I checked and rechecked for at least 10 minutes. When I was happy with how the clamps looked I grabbed the needle and prepared to pierce myself. When I felt I was sufficiently calm I placed the needle to my scrotum and began to push. The whole time I been thinking of piercing my self I figured I'd do it like my piercer does and just a quick push and it's over. I was sadly mistaken. I began to push using slow steady pressure. Nothing was happening so I pushed a little bit harder and suddenly a quick flash of pain shot through my body and the needle had broken the first layer of skin on my scrotum. I relaxed for a second and began pushing again. By this time I realized I was holding the clamps really tight and squeezed even harder and used them to push the towards the needle. This worked pretty well until the needle stopped again. I examined more closely and saw that my scrotum was pushing out the other side of the clamps so I gave another big push and got yet another shot of pain and the tip of my needle had broken the skin. I was almost there. I gave myself a second to relax and once again began pushing. I could see and feel the needle coming out of my scrotum, this hurt more than the breaking the skin incidents. Finally when about half the tapered part of the needle was out I gave the last push, which also hurt the most, and I was through. I let out a loud yea in celebration of my amazing feat. I removed the clamps and took a look. There was a bit of blood around the entrance and exit holes but I figured that would happen. Little did I know that this blood would be a big help in a few minutes.

Now came the task of installing the jewelry, a 10 gauge 5/8 inch ball closure ring. I couldn't figure out how I was going to accomplish this. I looked at my scrotum with the clamps on and with the clamps off and finally decided to not use the clamps and try my hardest to follow the needle with the ring. That method half worked. I say half because I got the ring in one side and heard the needle fall to the ground. So here I am naked on my toilet with one side of my jewelry through trying frantically to find the other hole to complete my pierce. I was bleeding like a stuck pig or stuck scrotum. I finally settled down a bit and realized that to find the hole all I had to do was see where the blood was coming from. I took some toilet paper and wiped my scrotum off. A little red dot formed and I quickly placed the loop under it and through, completing my first genital pierce. The bead gave me a bit of trouble but I eventually got it in. This whole procedure probably took 20 minutes, 15 of which spent messing with the clamp and bead. I showered and took a look at my new pierce in the mirror. I don't think I could have done a better job doing the piercing. It was perfect, exactly how I'd envisioned it. I am very happy with my newest modification.

This all happened about six hours ago and so far every thing is looking OK. The pain isn't even that bad. I went on a five mile bike ride two hours after I pierced it and plan on taking another one soon. The only down fall is I now have to wear briefs instead of boxers because the ring needs some support so it doesn't flop around. Again I am very happy with my new pierce and will soon get some pictures sent to bme. Until then, happy piercing.
