This experience is partly edited from some of my bbs postings on BME. I have left those parts in their bbs format for humor's sake, as well as bbs posterity.

Uggh!!-bloody, bloody, BLOODY uggh! Well, I woke up yesterday with a thought revisiting my conscious fray: get a third piercing down there, a scrotal right below the two lorum--it whispered enticingly. And yea, though little squirrels trembled as they scurried up electrical posts, and people eating grade F meet at taco bell vomited profusely, I did; I called, got a ride, and went to get my scrotum punctured. Got there, filled out a very much slimmed-down form, went back and reclined. Then, after much marking-the forceps came on; but they didn't feel right. Good, they're being repositioned in response to my statements. Still don't feel quite right-oh well, they are forceps clamped onto my scrotum-just how comfy should they feel? ?? -the piercing...zowwy!

Then blood, just a bit. Latter, more blood--and MORE blood, couple ounces by now--uh oh. Get the sweets next to the bed; keep a phone near by just in case; lay back, sleep... Wake up--much blood......

To be continued (easter dinner now).

Dinner was great--spiral-cut ham with brown sugar glaze . . . yum!

(Continuing from above:)

When I woke this morning, the few layers of Kleenex and many layers of paper towel that I had put inside my red boxer-briefs [around all of which, I had sweatpants] were soaked with blood--I mean wet, soppy, just ready to start dripping as I took it over to the garbage. The blood had soaked right through all of the paper products, and my underwear, to wet even part of the sweatpants. I'm glad I had eaten the banana bread and waited a couple minutes before getting out of bed to handle the blood stuff. Anyway, I decided not to freak out or become squeamish about it. I called the friend who had agreed to call me this morning [again, a precaution--(no drama)], then got up and made some tea. After some nice green tea (Curled Dragon Silver Tip with a little Sencha, I think), I added some good herbs for the next pot; that was a comforting and helpful thing. Then, on to the shower . . . --to be continued.

(The Simpsons are coming on--haven't seem um' for weeks.)

yarrow's probably passed out right now in front of futurama or something. somebody go slap him...

Yeah, it was Futurama--the Simpsons wasn't on for another hour. Guess it has been a while since I've seen it--then they were all reruns anyway.

The shower: (Continued from above)

I was expecting some residual blood when I got into the shower after having discarded sopping wet paper products that had been in my underwear during my slumbers. Residual blood? Oh my goodness...there was a bunch of hair right under the ring viscous and saturated with blood, like an unhappy beard. I began to clean that, not really staring at it-after taking the rest of my shower. Then I felt some strange bulbous, long, warm, soft things--what's this!? Trying to keep myself calm, I very gently continued cleaning. Then I wondered: have some veins from the vericoceal slipped out? But if that were the case, then the parenium would have been pierced too (very bad). I thought: no, they can't be, it couldn't be. But, they felt so much like veins!--soft, squishy, longish and tubular. I began to freak a bit.

I kept myself fairly calm (I'm very happy about that); though I did start to think that I should just stop gently mooshing these veins, wrap myself carefully, and go to a hospital. Calmer still, I thought: this just doesn't make sense; the hole isn't really big enough, especially with the jewelry in, for veins to slip out. Mustering a little more courage, I felt around with a 'finger' for detail. Ahh, the things weren't attached to the hole!! They were wrapped around the ring and stuck to some of my hair. Big sigh of relief--they were just blood clots, big, big blood clots--but that was all. So, many lather-and-rinses with Provon, and pulling off bits of clot (blood sausage, anyone?), letting them fall to the drain (my poor, poor flat-mates! (it all dissolved and went down; don't worry)), and they were eventually gone. Now, the piercing is doing really well--one of the best second and third days I've had with a fresh piercing yet (though I do not recommend knocking a vein when you get a piercing--very bad Idea). As always, I'm attending to the new piercing very well.

I have a few other piercings like this one; the after-experiences with those were nothing like this. But, it's worth bearing in mind that you could have a situation like this. It's practical to keep some fruit right next to your bed the night after a piercing that bleeds somewhat. Eating fruit and waiting a few minutes before sitting up and getting out of bed, will help compensate for low blood sugar due to blood loss. Remember the other precaution I had taken? This piercing had bled quite a lot; so, without dramatizing the situation, I arranged with a friend to have a morning call. She knew that I had gotten the piercing and could have provided additional assistance if I had not been able to answer, or had informed her of further problems. It has been several days, and the piercing is healing nicely. I expect to enjoy it for a good long while.
