So in 2005 I got my septum pierced and my first tattoo (a large piece of tribal on my right thigh). I didn't exactly consider that to be much progress. In 2006 I only managed to get my nipples redone. OK; I had them re-done at 8ga (3.2mm) which was an experience of itself and I did have them both done so I guess you could technically argue that it was two mods but nevertheless I still saw out the year feeling disappointed with my progress. The only tattooing in 2006 was touching up of the tribal piece.

I had kind of decided to focus on the piercing list first rather than the tattoo work because my hair removal project is ongoing and has to be complete before I can have those areas tattooed and of my piercing list it was a guiche I wanted next.
On 2nd January I was shocked when my partner announced, 'Should I get my nipples pierced?' Now I have been saying that he would look great with them done for years but would never force him to do anything he didn't want to. Piercing has always been my thing and something he appreciated on me but not for himself. Given this demonstration I was hardly going to say, 'No!'. I said we would go the following day to the piercing place I go to, Holier Than Thou in the Northern Quarter of Manchester, UK and he could get his nipples done and I would get my guiche done.
On 3rd January we both had our lunch, grabbed a bottle of fizzy drink (for sugar) and trundled across town to Holier Than Thou. They were closed. I half expected a sigh of relief from my partner but instead he was really disappointed. I was impressed! For my part I was also disappointed so the next day I phoned at about 10:30 am. Marcus who pierced my nipples and was the only guy I was going to let loose on my guiche or Stu's nipples answered the phone. I talked through what we wanted and he confirmed that he was happy to do my guiche at 8ga (3.2mm) as he had done my nipples. Brilliant.
We did the same as the day before - had our lunch, grabbed some fizzy drink and trundled on over. The apprentice took us through the paperwork and Marcus took us on back to do Stu's nipples first since my larger jewellery needed autoclaving. Stu's nipples aren't the story here but suffice to say that he ended up having just the one done but by the evening was seriously regretting not going through which the second one and is planning to go back in a couple of weeks!
After sending us out to completely scrub down the room before piercing me, Marcus came back out and called us in. I laid back on the bench, legs akimbo and he marked me up. At this point I got really nervous and had to have some of my fizzy drink and breeth a bit to relax. After a few minutes I laid back (I had been resting on my arms) and told Marcus I was ready. He clamped me, telling me what he was doing in soothing tones to keep me calm, and then had me take a deep breath and pierced through on the exhale. I groaned and shouted expletives and continue to do so as he then pulled the jewellery through and then we were done. He has used a hollow, bladed needle as with my nipples which was quite a scary sight!
I bled a little bit and could feel it run down my but crack which was a bit horrid but never mind! Marcus wiped me up and we waited a minute for it to clot before doing anything more. He then showed me in a mirror and it looked brilliant. He then put a dressing over it, gave me a panty pad - which was very embarassing, and then sent me on my way. He knew I knew about aftercare but we touched on the salient points anyway and I asked if there was anything specific I should do to do with the guiche just for piece of mind.
I spent most of yesterday walking around like I was taking a shit but most of that seems to be in my mind because I have tried and can actually walk normally absolutely fine. There has been next to no pain at all since the actual piercing and the bleeding has completely subsided. I left the dressing on overnight to be safe and not ruin any bed clothes but afterwards has so far been completely uneventful. I am aware of the ring, obviously, and there is a tingly feeling but nothing I would class as pain. The first cleaning this morning (5th January) has been uneventful so so far everything looks good with this addition.
So far I am very pleased with this piercing and I am sure once it has healed and I can try out some of its more practical benefits I will be in love!
