So I had been trying to ignore this nagging obsession to get the back of my scrotum pierced, aka guiche, until I finally gave in late one Monday night. Once I gave in to the drive, I had to act. Immediately. My regular piercing shop had already closed for the evening, but Virtue & Vice, the "sister-salon" of where I got my last tattoo (Timeless) was still open for a couple more hours. I knew somebody who just had his nipples done there, and so I decided to branch out. It was a Monday night, and I figured that was a perfect time to go in and get a guiche "on the sly"--no way I was waltzing in on a busy Saturday to broadcast I want my ass pierced.

I wasn't so embarrassed that I would let myself leave that store without the piercing.
Josh asked me how long it had been since I ate (which conjured up quite an array of alarming images), but 2 hours was apparently sufficient time. I chose a 10gauge curved barbell and we closed the blinds . . .
The major thing that had kept me away from the piercing was how mortifying I imagined it would be to drop trou for a (heterosexual) stranger. I was hesitant that anyone would actually want to do the piercing--although I'm sure that piercing artists feel similarly toward the human body as a doctor might. Even more embarrassing than forcing my ass in someone's face was the horrifying prospect that I might get a hard-on at some point, and since all it takes for me is a warm breeze, I could just see myself getting thrown out once and for all.
The awkwardness of the actual experience was nowhere near as bad as I had feared. Josh was definitely a pro, and made me quite comfortable. As far as being turned on, the immediate prospect of having a 10gauge needle shoved through the base of your sac kills any libido that might have otherwise arisen (no pun intended).
Before the piercing, there was some discussion among myself, Josh, and another piercer in the shop about the method piercers choose to do the guiche, either with the recipient laying back semi-spread eagle, or in the alternative, with the recipient on all fours. The two piercers in the shop said they always did the piercing with the subject on his back, but that apparently the others in the shop preferred their "victim" on all fours. Despite my numerous piercings (many of which are now retired), I had never had any needles anywhere below the belt, and so I was very shaky and jumpy as it was, so I was relieved to be able to just lay back and take it like a man.
After secluding ourselves in one of the private rooms, Josh explained to me everything he was doing, let me watch him autoclave the jewelry, conferred with me & showed me the prospective placement of the guiche--and then did the deed. It was super intense, and not at all a rush like some prior piercings had been. In fact, this was the first piercing ever to plague me with a wave of nauseau even, but fortunately it took only seconds to pass, and I was able to sit right up. Next thing I knew Josh was screwing on the bead and I was on my way.
I bled that evening like a stuck pig, but after a couple of hours the bleeding subsided and since then it's been a pretty standard healing experience. I've been very sore, almost like a chaffed feeling, but no real pain. Warm baths after work and a daily sea salt compress have eased the pain & swelling. I spend most of my day at work standing, and that has definitely been a godsend. I've had to switch (at least for a couple of weeks) from briefs to boxers.
I was a little concerned at first that the piercing was crooked because I jumped a little during the piercing (not so much out of pain as out of nervousness), or that it was already migrating (which I hear is common with the guiche), but that area of the body is so transitory & malleable even, that every time I check it out, I would get a different picture. Now that the swelling has subsided some, I gotta say it looks hot. Was definitely worth it--and highly recommended! Can't wait to get it out in circulation . . .
