Two years ago, I decided on a whim, to pierce my nipples. The piercing professional at a tattoo business that I had stopped by to discuss some body art for me, said that these first piercing would not be my last. He said that it was an addictive hobby and I'd keep on piercing until I convinced myself that enough was enough, no matter how many I had at the time. How right he was!
At A Glance Author bodybuilderef Contact bodybuilderf@yahoo.com IAM bodybuilderef When A week ago Artist Chris Studio A-Tattoo Location Gladstone, MO I did some harmless lorum rings and enlarged my nipple rings, then decided to go to the next step...a guiche! I looked through all of the pictures in the BME Gallery of guiches and told myself "I got to have one of them!" They may hurt more than some others and may take more time to heal than others, but man do they look cool. Bent over, legs spread what a look that is to see that shiny ring just below the scrotum. So I went to several piercing professionals none of whom did the guiche. Finally one gentleman told me about Chris at A-1 Tattoo's in Gladstone, MO, a suburb of Kansas City. Chris was hurting that day, he had a bad back, but he agreed to do the job.
Several things took place that led to where this story is heading and I hope I'm not boring you with details. I never didn't feel some kind of pain with this ring. At the job I had, I drove a forklift and as those of you who have driven forklifts before can attest to, there is absolutely no cushion from the bumps of the road. It has NO SHOCKS! The constant bouncing in the seat that I couldn't tilt back in always left me feeling some discomfort. I didn't get this guiche to have discomfort while I was awake or asleep. The other thing that I noticed about my piercing that was different from many that I saw at BME was the depth or width of the actual holes. Mine seemed to be a whole lot shallower or narrower than most of the guys in the photos.
One day the unimaginable, for me anyway, happened. I was in the shower washing in the area of the guiche, when I heard a clanging on the floor of the shower. Now I wear glasses and obviously didn't have them on in the shower so my eyesight wasn't great. However it didn't take great eyes to see what lie on the floor of the shower, my guiche ring. I immediately panicked, thinking I had ripped it out. I felt the area where it had been and there was just a small piece of skin not attached. I had no idea what was going on. I put off calling Chris for two reasons. One, I was somewhat embarrassed by the fact that it came out. Two, I figured that when and if I had it replaced, I'd have to wait for the skin to heal anyway. So wait I did.
Meanwhile, I started looking at pictures of PA's and decided that was my next step. The healing time was much shorter that the guiche and it was even cooler looking. I'll drop the PA story by after I get it done.
Anyway, the last week of August, I changed jobs. I would no longer be on a forklift bouncing my nuts and butt all over the place. In fact, I wouldn't even be sitting down much in this job. I'd be on my feet most of the day. That was ok by me, give me some comfy shoes and I'm ready to work. Sorry, I digress! There was a week between when I was to start the new job, so I made up my mind to go ahead and visit with Chris about my little mishap.
Last Wednesday, September 3rd, I went into A-1 Tattoo to finish the job I'd started 2 months earlier. Chris was at the desk so I had to tell him my dilemma within earshot of other customers. They are always busy. I told him that my guiche that he had installed 2 months ago had pulled out. He said, "it migrated?" I thought to myself, migrated. What in the heck is that? He assured me that migration of a guiche is very unusual. He took me to the back room and prepared to put a new one in. In looking at the new scar where the old one had been, he said that yep, that's what happened. He said he had done hundreds of these and never had one (that he's aware of) do that. He put the new one in and told me that he had made the hole deeper. Ah-ha! I knew it! He also appears to have used a smaller gauge ring. Maybe it looks that way because it's deeper.
Anyway, here it is not even a week later, and this feels so much better than the first one. I'm excited that this one may stay and looking forward to MY NEXT PIERCING!
