I am a 28 year old male who is lucky enough to work at a tattoo parlor in my state. However great this is we are not allowed by state law to do piercing, we cannot even sell anything in the shop related to piercing. This is devastating to our sales but law is law, there are three employees at the shop I work with. Two tattoo artists and myself the shop manager, we all have tattoos and I was the only one without piercings.

I asked one tattoo artist to do it as he was a piercer too. But my inhibitions got the best of me I could not pull it out and lay it in his hands.
I work with him and his wife, and if I ever saw them looking at me and laughing I would probably get angry. So I decided to do it myself. I could get the needles and captive ring easily and I did my research with books we had and also with the help of this site. Soon I was ready to try.
I made myself erect and placed dots where I wanted to be pierced with a marker. I used forceps, but funny enough each time I clamped down I went soft. Several times trying to stay erect I decided to do it soft, after all I had the marks what difference would it make.
It took several breaths and counts to three for me to finally push the needle through. There was an undeniable popping sound the skin makes at this point, but I soon found out that I had only gone through one side and I had to push through the other side. There I was standing there with a needle through my penis.
There wasn't that much blood only a drop or two, then it was time for the next step. I attempted to put my captive bead into the needle and soon found out there was a problem, I forgot to check and make sure the needle and hoop were compatible. Big mistake, or at least a painful mistake. Luckily though I thought ahead and got different size needles, but this meant I had to pierce myself again.
Again I thought ahead because being I worked at a tattoo parlor I had access to numbing gel, it only works when the skin is open. I am not sure why I brought some home knowing that I would only be able to use it if I messed up but I guess I knew myself all to well.
I know most people will not have access to the numbing gel and it is quit expensive so I also looked at orajel for tooth pain and it has a similar " Cain " active ingredient that would work, although not as well and again the skin would have to be open. I re pierced myself with little discomfort and stood proudly in front or the mirror.
I am now contemplating a second piercing on my penis and would really like to start a " Jacobs ladder " I am going through a divorce and will be able to date soon...or at least date without fear of lawyers and judges. I know a lot of girls from the tattoo parlor and they know I have one piercing and they all seemed interested. It only seems logical that a few key placed piercings would make my love life much better.
I am also thinking of my nipples, I really enjoy being able to say that I pierced this, it gives your a sense of pride. Although dangerous I had professionals to tell me what to expect and what to do, it was my anxiety that caused me to forget what I did but without hesitation I would do it again, and you know what I just might do it again tonight.
After several weeks i was able to "use" it. I noticed little difference and it was still a little sore after a little while, but she after getting acquainted to it she seemed to like it and told me that she noticed it and felt good.
My lesson learned was to always check the sizes of your needles and bars and what not, and also use a cork or something soft on the other side of the piercing to catch the needle because it hurts if it sticks your finger. The Internet is a great place to find what you need, just Google it and get the info you need and the select images to see what your planning on doing, you may have to check your settings so that you can see these types of pictures because some are x rated.
