Well I guess I should start with the motivation behind this piercing. This would be my third body piercing and as far as most people are concerned my most extreme. Something about doing things that most people couldn't bare has always drawn me to it, usually adrenaline related. So why not start in on modifying my body.

However I believe it depends on what state your in so you might want to check around before going it yourself. So after checking about 10 different shops trying to find one that would pierce my penis with parental consent my future brother in-law being a piercer came into play. He said he could do it right off the bat but for some reason letting him do it, spurred thoughts of a family reunion with him saying "Hey man, damn I haven't seen you since I pierced your cock." Out loud. So instead I asked him how I would go about piercing it myself. After talking about his experience with his self-done PA I decided to go for it.
With him being in the profession I had access to all the proper equipment and sterilization that you would find in a good studio. So after going over the game plan about 4 or 5 times and all the stuff was done with sterilization I retreated to the bathroom. With all the stuff and we started setting everything up for the best access from the toilet where I would be sitting, along with 4 shots of everclear lined up along the sink (for afterwards of course.)
Now I've never considered myself to be the smartest guy walking around, but something about sitting on a toilet about to put a needle through my own penis seemed especially dense. The nerves didn't really hit until I had finished pouring mouthwash on my penis to sterilize it (I guess it burns less or avoids making the skin raw, but it was what I was told to used instead of regular alcohol.) The next step was to examine the area to make sure no veins were in the way, rolling the skin around between thumb and forefinger to be positive. Applied the clamps then I marked the entry and exit points, released the clamps then checked for proper placement and being even. After reapplying the clamps and inserting the stud into the needle, and putting the other ball end into what I can best describe as a pen shaft with retracting claws to hold the ball in place(to keep from dropping it incase the gloves got some blood on them), I was ready to pierce.
Earlier I stated that the nerves hit me after I sterilized the skin, so at this point holding the needle ready to pierce I must have been scared shitless. I say this because I was told just go fast and it would be over quick, well being completely sober my hand was shaking pretty damn bad. So I opted for the slow is smooth, smooth is fast approach. As much planning that was put into this we completely forgot to lubricate the needle, but even with that there was hardly any pain at all. After pushing the needle all the way through and removing it from the stud the shaking hands wasn't much better and matching up 14g threads with shaky hands isn't all that easy. Once the threads were tightened down, I sterilized again, I don't remember any burning but its been 3 years so it might have. I remember almost no bleeding at all during and after the piercing. The 4 shots of ever clear went so fast I was wishing I had about 10 though.
After the piercing was over with I did what anyone would do, went to Pizza Inn and slaughtered the buffet. Then came back to the house and commenced to getting completely smashed out drunk. Shortly after that I started calling all my friends and started telling them I had my penis pierced.
The only thing I really would advise is to not get totally trashed the night you do this. Since I did though when I woke up the next day the only thing on my mind was how bad I had to piss, it wasn't until after I had finished and went about my normal routine of shaking the hell out of my penis did I almost drop to my knees in pain and remember I just pierced my penis the night before. Other than that little set back healing time was very minimal about 1 and 1 ½ weeks and it was over with.
