Although I'm currently 39 years old, I have contemplated a genital piercing for a few years now. I recently met a woman who was very interested in piercings, like myself, but didn't have any either. I guess it was her curiosity and support that eventually gave me the courage to get my piercing. Here is the story:

I was told that it was most likely the least painful and healed quickly. That was enough for me. The problem was, I really wanted a woman to pierce me and there aren't alot of them in West Virginia. I called a number of studios and talked to a few women, but I never found any I was comfortable with. Well, that is until I talked to Kelly at Lure Tattoos. I actually found the studio by reading other stories here on BME! I called and luckily Kelly answered the phone. She was very informative, professional and patient. I could tell right off the bat she was experienced. Well, that settled it for me! I was FINALLY getting pierced at 39 years old.
I called Kelly a couple days later and set an appointment for Tuesday evening. I figured it would be less crowded and less stressful, wrong.... My girlfriend went with me to the studio. She was there to take pictures, keep me calm, and drive me hone if needed. When we entered the studio, there were 10 people waiting to get pierced or tattooed. Man, talk about stress. Kelly came out and explained that I already had an appointment and wouldn't have to wait very long. After the paperwork was completed, Kelly talked to me about what I wanted, what size I wanted and generally tried to make me a little more relaxed. It worked a little, but not much. My mind was racing wildly and my adrenaline was really kicking in.
Kelly helped me pic out a straight 10ga bar and went to autoclave it and the other instruments. My girlfriend was trying to keep me calm, I guess she could see I was becoming very nervous. Kelly came back after a few minutes and said she was ready.
After getting to the room, I asked Kelly what she needed me to do. She said so 'matter of factly' to just drop my pants and hop on the table. "OK, here it goes" was the only thought I had, and dropped my pants. I must admit, I was a little turned on at this point, and my girlfriend was also! She said later, watiching me get pierced was the sexiest thing she had ever witnessed... :) Kelly marked me, and asked if I wanted to check it first, before the pierced it. Now, the last thing I wanted to do at this point was prolong the agony, and simply said 'just do it!'... Kelly said take a deep breath and..... OUCH! 'Wait a minute, that was it?'
Kelly was so quick and skillful, that I barely felt it. The best way I can describe it was similar to a beesting that lasted about half a second. Kelly told me to relax and she would put the stud in. That wasn't painful either. Wham, bam, I'm pierced! Kelly asked if I was ok, and I said 'Yeah, I'm great!'. Both Kelly and my girlfriend started laughing at me. I hopped up from the table and went straight to the full length mirror. Wow, it was soooooo cool! There was no bleeding or anything.
After waiting years to get a piercing, I finally had one! I thanked Kelly, gave her a tip and my girlfriend and I headed out the door. I stood in the parking lot and smoked a cigar to calm my nerves and let the adrenaline rush go away. To this day, I don't think it has! On the way home, my girlfriend drove and demanded that I pull my pants down so she could see it. I think I was hard the entire drive home, which was about an hour and half! lol
I've had my piercing for about three months now and haven't had ANY problems whatsoever. It's been alot of fun playing with it and my girlfriend DEFINITELY enjoys it as well. My only regret is not getting an 8ga instead of the 10ga. I've already talked to Kelly about stretching it and getting two more right below the first one! She told me to wait at least six months before trying to stretch it. I'm hoping to eventually stretch it to a 6ga with two 8ga below it! We'll see!
I hope this article will encourage anyone thinking of a piercing to consider the frenum. At the very least, do your research and become knowledgable about what is involved before deciding. I have enjoyed mine immensely and can't wait to get other piercings as well!
