I've been reading BME for a long time, and have been pierced and inked for some years. Much like many of the people who's experiences I've read here I'd started off thinking there was no way in hell I was going to ever get pierced below the belt. But as time went by and I got more ink and more holes, the urge started to grow...

I finally struck up the courage to go and enquire about it a few months back, I walked into a local piercing and tattoo place and enquired about getting some piercing work done. I was fairly new to town at that stage and didn't know what the local scene was like at all. The girl behind the counter enquired what I wanted pierced, and when I told her I was considering genital piercing she made a rather disgusted face and informed me that they didn't do _that_ kind of piercing. I was rather taken aback, not at the fact that they wouldn't do it, but at her reaction to my query, but you get that in the conservative south I guess.

Due to financial restrictions I put my piercing plans on the backburner for a few months at that point until some unexpected extra cash came my way. Righto, time to get pierced.

I made some enquiries and had Buzzworks recommended to me, I wandered in there and was stoked to find it a lot cleaner than the first place I had visited, and also a lot friendlier. I spoke to the piercer (whose name escapes me) and she confirmed that not only did they do genital piercing, but that she personally had been performing them for 10 odd years. Very comforting. I had read a bit on BME and was leaning towards an apadravya, her advice was that as I was uncircumcised that I would most probably find the apadravya to be super irritating most of the time as the bar would hold at least one side of the foreskin back at all times. We discussed the different options for a while before I decided that a frenum was a good place to start. I made the appointment for the next day. She advised that I get a good nights sleep, drink plenty of water and make sure I have a good lunch before I came back at 2.30pm the next day.

After class the next day, after going home and having a wash etc, I made my way to Buzzworks. The piercer greeted me and asked me to take a seat while she dealt with a couple customers in the shop and prepped her gear. After about 10 minutes she called me in. The piercing room was very clean with an old style dentists chair in the centre. She told me to drop em and make myself comfy on the (paper covered) chair.

Now I'd read about the pre-pierce shrink, but damn. Mr. Happy was doing his best to disappear completely. I could almost hear a little voice saying "Dude, you're gonna stick a what in my what? Hell no!" I cracked some joke about shrinkage and she giggled and said not to worry that it happens to everyone.

I made myself comfy on the chair, all the while trying to will my dick to at try to get back to normal, and she wiped me down with antiseptic stuff and, explaining what she was doing the whole time, examined me for a bit to find the veins, at one stage using a little torch thing to locate them. She then marked me up, then checked everything again. She was super confident and put me completely at ease. With a cheerful "Here comes the clamp!" she clamped me up, and after checking placement a third time, told me to breathe deeply at on the 3rd or so exhale she pierced.

It hurt. More than just a little. I may possibly have said some rude words. It felt kind of like a slow sharp pinch, but like other piercing experiences I've had, the pain felt kind of righteous too, there's an odd feeling of ritual achievement that seems to come with the pain. As soon as the clamp came off the pain subsided almost completely however.

I looked down and there was a little banana shaped barbell sticking out either side of my frenum. Excellent.

She went over the aftercare etc whilst I sat there digging the endorphin rush. She gave me a bag of sea salt and I went on my way.

There has been pretty much no pain since, nor any bruising or noticeable swelling, it's about 8 hours after and everything seems great. I love the way it looks and I'm looking forward to test driving it in a few weeks. I think I may add a PA sometime too... So much for never getting pierced south of the border.
