I had been away for the weekend catching up with friends and was driving back into Auckland when I decided to stop off in Newmarket on the way home and see my friendly body piercers. Sunday is not really a good time to go to Newmarket as this is a big, busy and trendy shopping suburb and parking can be a nightmare. The main car park was full and there were queues to get into it so I turned onto Broadway (main street) and was heading home when a car pulled out. Massive stroke of luck, free on-street parking and directly across the road from Streetwise. The karma gods were aligned and fate was smiling on me.
At A Glance Author mbzn Contact mbzn@bme.anon IAM mbzn When A month ago Artist Shane Studio Streetwise Location Auckland, New Zealand I was planning to buy a 6 gauge CBR so that I could stretch my PA in the future. I had only gone to an 8 gauge about 4 weeks before so wasn't going to stretch it immediately, but decided to commit myself to the inevitable and spend some cash. Shane and Jane (the owners) were behind the counter. I started talking to Jane about the jewelry and she and Shane swapped customers as this was more Shane's area of expertise (male genital piercings that is).
I got talking to Shane about what other options there were for hidden or non-visible piercings. I can't get visible Bod Mods where I work, it's a definite non starter, but it's my choice to work there under the rules set. I do enjoy my job and get well paid for it so C'est La Vie I guess. When Shane mentioned a Frenum piercing my interest levels raised and I asked if I could get one then and there. Fortunately the answer was yes, so I went and filled out the form, paid the NZD120.00 and took a seat.
Shane invited me into the piercing room while he set it up and got everything ready. The last time I was there this was all done before I went in and everything was ready to rock. I was very impressed with the care taken to set-up the room. All surfaces we wiped with down with anti-bacterial solution, the jewelry and piercing equipment was laid out in the sterilised bags from the autoclave and various pots of solutions were laid out ready for use. Oh yeah and the gloves were changed about five times during this time, I have no concerns about the hygiene and safety levels at Streetwise. Shane and I were talking during this time and he told me about him and Jane doing the Gauntlet courses in the States before Gauntlet closed it's doors.
Then it was time to do the deed, I dropped my jeans and got on the table. Shane applied some anti-bacterial solution to my dick and let it to work for a few minutes, then cleaned it off and got a tooth-pick, dipped in Gentian Violet, and started to mark the area to be pierced. After a couple of attempts to get it prefect we agreed on the positioning, it was a bit difficult as I am uncircumcised and had to allow enough clearance from my PA but not so far back as to cause infibulation (that would be another subject). Shane measured me and sorted out the jewelry to be used, 10mm 10 gauge barbell. I lay back while he positioned the Pennington forceps. He said that it would be uncomfortable but I hardly noticed anything while he gathered in the loose skin. I stated to take deep breaths and on three he pushed the needle through. I did flinch very slightly, but the pain only lasted for a few seconds and was more like an electric shock. There were a few more small suggestions of pain when he removed the forceps and put a cork on the exposed needle. Then the barbell went in, the ball was put on the end and tightened and something cooling was put on my dick for a few minutes (that felt pretty good). I carefully rolled my foreskin over the new barbell, pulled my pants up, thanked Shane and discussed after-care. I use the salt-water soaks and anti-bacterial soap routine but after about two weeks also start using emu oil post cleaning. It may not be perfect, but it has worked for me so far.
When I got home a few hours later there was hardly any blood which was a nice surprise after my PA, there is something disturbing about pulling a large blood clot out from your urethra! The piercing started to heal really well and was not painful unless I did something stupid. Even my girlfriend calling my dick Metal Mickey didn't dissuade me from thinking it was a good idea. Metal for the barbell and Mickey cause she thought that it looked like Mickey Mouse ears when I was soft. Harsh!
Then the following weekend I helped a mate out with a building project and in the process bumped and knocked the piercing numerous times. This caused it to flare up and I believe caused the left end of the barbell to start migrating towards the CBR of my PA. I tried keeping my foreskin retracted to relieve the pressure but in the end I had to take the barbell out and let the piercing heal up. It was fine when I was erect, but when I went soft the bit of skin between the barbell and CBR was really pinched. That was more painful at times than the actual piercing procedure. It's not a good look constantly adjusting yourself and the expressions of pain don't help either.
I do miss the frenum piercing as I think that it would have been fun and was looking forward to trying it out. I will get it redone at some stage, but with smaller balls on the end of the barbell. Who knows the scar tissue from the first attempt may help hold it in place during the initial healing period. And thanks to Shane from Streetwise for his advice while I tried to "save" the piercing.
