Well, a month or so ago, I decided at 37 to get a piercing - actually two - and so after a long flight I went into Seattle's best known piercing gallery Slave to the Needle...I wanted to get both a PA and also what I thought would be a scrotum...but that is another posting...I got the PA - love it, as does my wife of many years.
At A Glance Author germania When A week ago Artist Phish Studio Slave to the Needle Location Seattle's Ballard So, with a month going by, my wife decided to join in the piercing craze and we headed back to Slave to the Needle...she decided to check for a triangle - no go due to her anatomy - and got a vertical hood piercing. I decided to get what I originally had wanted, but failed to properly name - a Lorum.
Phish was great - pretty willing to accommodate the addition to the appointment. S2TN is a great shop and the staff pretty open and friendly to all who come in from what I observed during the two visits there.
The room was prepped following my wife's vert hood and I was told to drop my drawers and take a seat. Sure, no problem. Only the second time in a month I was showing myself to a guy with a needle in his hands. It was not even feeling awkward at this point, I dare say it was starting to become almost routine.
After doing my wife's vert hood, he asked me what I wanted to do. I explained that I wanted a Lorum and he asked where did I want it? I explained that I had been in earlier and got a PA from Dave (a month to the day as it turned out) and had miss identified what I wanted then. As I explained to Phish, when I guy has a needle through your cock you really don't want to discuss the fineries of where else that needle could and could not go. Phish laughed and got his gear together - showing us what he was doing and talking about things we had in common. Age being one!
Phish looked me over - examined things - and asked what again was it that I was going for in a lorum. I explained that I would like to eventually wear a captive ring a bit above the base of the shaft or a large cock ring/frenum ring. I said I was a bit concerned because in my own shower tests I was unsure as to whether or not I had enough space there. He pinched, pulled, and looked me over then said, sure this would work without any problems. I really appreciated his double checking and ensuring he understood what I wanted done. I asked about rejection rates and he said they were not that common where he would place it, but to focus on the aftercare. He spent a few minutes marking, checking, pinching, marking again. I asked would it work out where I was thinking in that there was a visible vein right in the area we discussed. Sure - Phish said - we are not going that deep. Then he grinned! He told me to take a deep breath and exhale - and I did...
YEOWZZA – DAMN - this was a different pain from the PA - more of a slow burn versus a quick sharp pain. Not an unbearable pain, but it was a burning sensation. Think sunburn and the feeling after being slapped on it but in one very private location! My feet stayed tense for a minute or so. He fed through the 10 gauge barbell and put on the balls. He asked if I wanted to see and handed me a mirror. It was in the ideal location - I was and am very pleased. (Just a note it did decrease in intensity and all but vanished within about 25 minutes or so.) Then it was over. While we were discussing after care, he asked if I was thinking of a frenum ladder from the base. I said probably not - if anything maybe one more as a "speed bump" so to speak. We as a group (my wife was in the room for hers and my procedures) talked about being 30 something, piercing, and family. The piercing was done in the afternoon and my wife and I attending something that evening. There was an occasional reminder of the earlier events of the day with an occasional twing or pinch, but nothing difficult or unbearable.
I would strongly recommend S2TN to anyone - especially someone who may have a more uncertain position about what they want to do and how they want it done. Phish, and Dave, are awesome at this - straight forward, candid, professional - you get the picture. Five days later things are healing well - although hitting the lorum with the handle of the lawn mower was something I hope not to do again -- wheel got caught it stopped, I didn't - OUCH! Do follow their aftercare with the seasalt. It is a cheap and easy way to help the healing process.
As to the speed bump, we'll have to see if that is a 38th BD present next year! If I do decide to get it, I will be heading back to S2TN.
