I have always been interested in getting a piercing. When I decided I finally wanted to get one I knew that I wanted something that not many people had. I went through, as many websites as I could to see what kind of piercing would be good for me. I chose a frenum ladder because of it not being a mainstream piercing and its roots in some ancient cultures; I'm a pagan so this held a lot of appeal to me. I started my ladder in March of this year. It was the first piercing I've ever had done, so I was a little nervous but I had wanted to have a frenum ladder for about a year, so I had awhile to psyche myself up for it.

I wasn't disappointed; the guy that did my piercing, Nick Giordano, gave me all the information about a ladder and talked me through the entire procedure. He explained step by step what he was doing and talked about his own experience with a frenum piercing which helped dispel any fears I had. Every thing was very clean and every effort was made to make me comfortable. He recommended I start with just the top and bottom for that session to see how they healed. I chose a half-inch 10-gage stainless steel barbell. I had the top gagged to an 8 after the first three months but unfortunately it one migrated out. .
I waited another month for the top to heal and went back to Nick at Ultimate to have the top redone and have one put below it. Once again everything was very professional and I had a five-eighths inch 8-gage put in for the top and a half-inch 10-gage put in below it. When he redid the top of the ladder I defiantly felt it; the second rung wasn't as bad though. Both are healing very well and I'm going back in about a month to have one or possibly two put in. both will most likely be one-half 10 gage and I may gage them to a 8 when there done healing.
It's been a little more than a month since I had the top redone and one put below it. There bother healing really well and there's no signs of migration and hardly any of the crusties I had in the beginning I cant wait to have more put in. I was originally going to just have one more put in but after seeing how well they healed and the placement I think ill have the fourth one put in and then have more put in between the original four for a grand total of seven. I think I may even have the first four all gauged to an 8. Its kind of funny when I go up and down stairs I can sometimes hear the barbells jangle, kind of makes me wonder if anyone else can hear it, if nothing else its good for a laugh in the morning when I'm going downstairs to the bathroom.
The only downside of my ladder was that my job requires a lot of movement and I often get that pinching feeling that I think everyone with a ladder has had at least once. One of the best parts is the expression when my piercing comes up in conversation, I usually get "you don't seem like that kind of person", and I respond, "is there really a type?" I've found most girls seem really interested in it and most guys seem horrified when it comes up in a conversation. Almost everyone asks if it makes sex better when I think they know almost certainly know the answer but just want to hear me say " think of it like speed bumps". When I say this the girls usually giggle and the guys get a smirk. I don't think of myself as extreme, it takes a lot of balls to get any piercing, I just have always known I wanted to do something not many people are willing to try. Even though my girlfriend loves it I didn't have it done just for the sexual effect after having the feeling of being pierce d I would defiantly say its something like a religious experience. I certainly recommend a frenum piercing to anyone; the pain is about the same as having your blood drawn. Most people think that it only benefits the other partner during sex but that's not true it has deffently-changed sex for the better for me also. All I know is that it will defiantly makes you think different of yourself since it sets you apart from a lot of people.
