Last night I felt the urge to get a new piercing done, and since I had all my equipment here at home, having taken it from the studio where I work because I had to pierce a friend of mine at home, I was able to do it immediately.

But piercing fever is getting me again, and being a bodypiercer I think it's good to keep on testing piercings on myself, so in November I had my friend Giosuč pierce my nipples (once again at crappy 14ga, but they are already stretched to 10 and waiting for an 8ga), then about 1 month ago I pierced my tongue myself at 10ga (with an American Body Art needle, lovely long-bevelled and sharp).
I think piercing myself has excellent anti-depressive properties, as it always coincides with my sad and dark moments, or more simply I get a new piercing when I get bored to have something new to think about.
And now it comes to last night piercing. I always liked genital piercing, I've been wearing a scrotum ring for years before I overstretched it, and wearing a super-heavy ring (7mm x 16I.D.!), made it reject...so I'm missing some metal down there (it was such a good clit-knocker!!).
A frenum appealed me the most, being I think the only piercing on the head of the penis that I could make myself (I don't like Pas, I'm wanting an apadravya but I'm waiting to go to London and have it done there). I had this nice 10ga x 16mm titanium barbell and 10ga needle, so...
I set everything nice and tidy on my table, sterile small Penningtons, needle and jewellery, a sterile cork, a sterile toothpick and gentian violet, some lube, q-tips and gauze, a Benzalkhonium disinfectant and caliper, and after having washed my glans with Satin and wiped it with disinfectant I started examining it.
To a close look, the tip of my penis seemed packed with huge, dark veins just next to the frenum, so it took about half an hour to mark the right dots (I'm very slow when I pierce myself...). The gentian violet didn't seem to work well in this case, so I abandoned the toothpick and took a permanent marker out of my drawer.
To be honest, I'm a real funk when it comes to self-piercing, so it took another 30 minutes to clamp my frenum about 10 times, and push the needle through. The sharp point of the needle came out easily, but the big pain was tapering the hole with the remaining part of the needle... This time I used a 2.4mm needle I bought from Roxy, a Belge distributor of Cold Steel products; they sell good needles but with a shorter bevel compared to American Body Art's or I.S., so it was harder to push through the frenum and the cork, but in the end I did it, sweating and clenching my teeth! Getting the barbell in was sweet, not a drop of blood came out, no pain or soreness was involved afterwards.
Just a couple minutes after I finished, the doorbell rang: it was my friend Tommy, inviting me to go out and have a couple bongs together. I quickly forgot the piercing, remembering I had it only when I took the first piss, that went completely smooth by the way, no burning or stinging. Maybe it was like this also thanks to the hits of MJ I took! It is said to have analgesic properties, I must test this more... Before getting mods, smoking seems to make anxiety worse, but after -hey!- seems good! In fact, I remember reading another experience where the writer reported that his piercer (from Nomad I think, or another top-quality studio from San Francisco) suggested to have a joint to relieve headache from getting a bridge piercing.
Today I cleaned it for the first time, washing it with anti-microbial soap: there were no crusties or swelling, and it looks so fine! I can't wait to start stretching it and fucking with it!

P.S.: Sorry for the metric measurements, but I live in Italy and this is the only system we use, and I agree with Shannon that it's far more accurate and safe to use for bodypiercing than inches. Don't you think so?
