Almost two months ago I had a Prince Albert done at the studio I have been working at as an apprentice now for about 8 months. The piercer I have been learning from is a very professional female. I had debated the Prince Albert with other genital piercings that were not as extreme, a frenum and Lorum, but i finally decided on the PA. After I had that done and it healed up, I felt the need to accessorize even more. I researched apadravyas, ampallangs, and dydoes but decided after the pain of the PA to do something a little less extreme. I also wanted something that I could perform on myself. My best friend also wanted me to do something on him and he decided on a frenum. It took me a lot of thought to decide between a frenum and Lorum. I thought the Lorum might interfere with the PA when I was not hard, so i finally decided on the frenum.

After I performed the piercing on him, I knew that I had to do my frenum soon. I went to the bathroom to urinate because I was very nervous. I wasn't very worried about the pain (I've had my nipples pierced twice, once at 12's, another time at 10's, my septum pierced at a 10 then stretched to a 6, a 10 ga PA, and my tongue for future pain comparisons), but I was still very nervous.
Now came time for me to set up. The piercer I learned from is away for maternity reasons and I've been doing simple walk-ins, so I was on my own. I closed the curtain to the piercing room so that nobody who walked in the studio could see my nervous shrunken unit. For hardware I decided I wanted a 10 gauge. I had a 7/8" barbell that used to be in my nipple. I cleaned this using madacide. I laid out a paper towel on which I cleaned the jewelry well. I put on gloves then I laid out a tongue depressor with vitamin A & D ointment and placed the autoclaved (of course)10 gauge needle in the ointment with a cork right next to it for a speedy grab when i needed it. Next I pulled down my pants and pulled out my penis through the hole in my boxers and cleaned of the area where I'd soon be piercing with an iodine swab. After there was a nice coating of iodine, I cleaned that off with some medicinal green soap solution and now was time to mark. I marked the two dots about a hal f inch behind my Prince Albert. After re-dotting numerous times, it appeared as if the dots were straight and even. Then I put the elastic on a pair of triangle shaped forceps and lined up the dots perfectly in the small opening of the clamps. Now came time to insert the needle which looked so big! I picked up the needle with my right hand while holding the forceps with my left and I just sat there. I sat there trying to prepare myself for about five minutes but I didn't budge. I just could not get the nerve to ram the needle through. After not making a move, I called for the main tattoo artist who owns and runs the shop for encouragement. He's very large and he's a real strong, tough guy who has no problem being intimidating. There's no way he'd let me wuss out.
I said "Hey Rob, tell me that I'm a wuss and won't pierce my own dick!" So he came in the room and screamed at me, "Don't be a pussy! Just push the needle through!" He offered to hold the clamps for me and I said "no". Then I just lined up the needle and pushed it through. I let a nice yell out as the needle went only about half way through. Half of the point stuck through the other side but the needle was not moving. As pain surged through my body, I gave the final push needed to get it all the way through. Wow! After the initial sharp pain, there was a heavy burning sensation. I removed the clamps, corked the needle, and relaxed for a second before I put the jewelry through. Because I did it myself, I think it hurt more than if someone else did it. It was slow and pushing the needle through was not nearly as easy as doing it on someone else. The more I pushed, the more it hurt. If someone else did it I would have been less tense. There was no blood and I was dead on both dots. Excellent. After I calmed down, I smoothly followed the jewelry through with no difficulty, screwed on the bead and cleaned up any excess A & D and the little traces of blood. Then I pulled up my pants and I was good to go. That night I had no problems, it didn't hurt it was just a little tender.
The next day I cleaned it in the shower using Dial anti-bacterial soap and there were some bloody crusties, but no problems. I had an active day wrestling girls and getting many hard-ons, and the only result was tiny amounts of dried blood on the holes. At night I couldn't hold it in and decided to masturbate. Bad move! Never rush that with genital piercings (I should have learned that after the PA!). It was very sore while i did it but it felt good so I kept going. After I was finished, I looked down and I was bleeding. Not excessive, but I had to clean it off and it was very sore. Today I cleaned it real well and have had no difficulties. I don't plan on masturbating for a few days now! I will probably do some sea salt soaks from time to time and go easy on it. It ended up not being completely straight, but that's because my dots weren't perfect.
I only performed this piercing on myself because I am a professional piercer and it was performed in a sterile environment using gloves and all autoclaved tools. Genital piercings performed on yourself can be risky and very stupid! Don't hesitate to go to a professional. If it seems awkward, it's still worth having someone experienced do it.
