Here is MY personal experience with a frenum piercing. I used to be one of those guys who was like no way! I am not ever going to pierce my penis, but after a while I kept thinking about it and my girlfriend and i were intrigued. So i finally said what the hell, if SHE is cool with it and prepared to deal with it too, I could totally take it. Let me preface by saying that at the time i had half of my sleeve done, and several other random tattoos, I also had my nipples, nose, and tongue done. Nowadays I have been tattooing for years and have since taken the piercing out, but to get from there to here, you'll have to read on.

So the big day, we get to the shop, it looks nice inside and the piercer seemed professional and friendly, working in a tattoo shop that also provides piercing I know there are tons of people who only mention genital piercings as jokes or to just be stupid, but he was very knowledgable and a real pro. After some discussion between the piercer, myself and my girl, it was off to the back.
The piercer's work area was very clean and nice inside, lots of stainless steel and glass, very sterile-looking. when he setup and it was time to bear the penis, dude it was small! I am not kidding or joking here either, it was the smallest I ever remember seeing it! My girlfriend even said something, I guess to help both our egos, and a laugh was had by all( it was more professional than it sounds). So this was just a 12g needle, but I guess because the destination was so....MY PENIS!, it looked huge! I held my breath, felt the tiniest little sting and that was it, it was pierced and the jewelry in place. I have to say the piercer ( i wish i remembered his name) had the jewelry exchange down! it was a smooth procedure. And i have to say it was relatively pain free- and i am not trying to sound tough here at all, it was nothing!
I remember on the ride home my girl kept asking how it felt and i could honestly say, without touching it, i could not tell anything had just been done, and if you have ever visited New Orleans, you may remember the streets are far from smooth!
Now for the healing- I hadn't had any real problems with the piercing, the usual crusties, and the occasional accidental grab in my sleep, but one day while I was out skateboarding I think my thighs rubbed together or something but ZOWEE! that shit hurt! but after a minute or two it was fine, no tear, no blood, but whoa it did hurt right when it happened. Other than that not too bad a healing at all. I did try and lay off sex as long as I could but I think it was something like 3 weeks, some non-intercourse play aside.
I would again like to preface by saying I am neither bragging nor fishing for dates when I say this , but I have a fairly large penis. Insertion has not been the smoothest of actions my whole life and this piercing did not help at all, in fact it was painful for me. I know I should have had a captive bead ring sized to fit when erect, but I am very different when hard than when soft so it didn't seem appropriate and I was wearing a barbell. I had to wrestle one ball at a time into the condom, and then deal with the snug tug of insertion. Needless to say the frenum only stayed in me for about a month. The very odd thing however is that even though it had been in for such a short period of time here years later the hole is still there and I can easily slip a 14g in at any time. this again is just one mans experience, but I wish I had read something like this before I got mine done. I don't really regret it as there are no lingering negative side effects, but it was a wasted ef fort in the long run.
Take into consideration, if you are considering this piercing, that even though the piercer was professional in demeaner, and even though the workspace at least looked very clean and sterile, that is not to say that the placement may have off. It did appear a bit shallow, but I am no expert. I also went with a barbell which may have added to my discomfort as the guy suggested a captive bead ring. What i mean to say I guess is just research(I guess you are now aren't you) as many peoples experiences as possible and draw your own conclusion. I really wish there was, or I knew about, a forum such as this back then, as I find them invaluable now
