Iv had my frenum piercing for about 6 months now. I wrote an experience about my piercing as soon as I got it pierced. Here is my experience. I pierced my frenum at home (not a good idea) at 14 gauge (once again not a good idea). And I had it in my mind I want it to be 6 gauge. That sounds a lot simpler then it was.

During the first healing time it was very sensitive. The worst part was when the crusties would harden then the barbell wanted to move. Not a very painful, but enough to let you know it's about time to clean it. As long as you could keep the crusties off of the jewelry it's not that bad. I did 2 salt soak everyday for the first 4-6 weeks. Standing there with your manhood in a cup of warm salt water 2 times a day for 10 minutes gets old extremely fast. But it did help a great deal.

When I was downtown one day and had some money on me and I felt that I was ready to make the move to 12 gauge I went and saw my piercer. The first stretch is a bit scary because you don't know what to expect. This was during the winter and I was outside all day so I was very cold. When sitting down to get the stretch I took out my now pierced manhood, and it was cold to the touch. I would later find out that it's not the best idea to stretch a cold frenum. It makes it more painfully. Over all the jump was a nothing more then a sharp sting. I when back to the cleaning habit I had when I pierced it. Cleaning about 3 times a day, and salt soaks for 4 weeks.

It wasn't healed for very long when I wanted to go to 10 gauge. I was at my piercers shop to get my tongue stretch but ended up not getting done. Making sure not to waste a whole trip downtown I did get my frenum stretched. I would have to say that this was the easiest jump of them all. I repeated what I did for the first jump.

Then about a month and a half later I was ready for the next stretch. I had a lot of stretching to do that day. A tongue stretching, a double gauge lobe stretch, and my frenum. We did the frenum last. And by this time I had a small group of onlookers. This is always good because it keeps me from backing out. When I saw the taper it look like it was 2 sizes to big. I asked him about it and he showed me it was the right size, but it was stuck in my head that it was way bigger then it was. After freaking out about it for 5 minutes and telling him to hold on, I gave him the OK. I screamed like a little girl. He put the ring in and said, "Was that so bad?" and I said, "I'm bleeding..." I guess it wasn't healed enough, or I just psyched myself into it too much. I repeated what I did for the first jump.

A warning first, the way I got to 6 gauge was not the proper way to do it and should not been done. Please always go to a piercer.

After being healed for a few weeks and being very bored one Friday night I looked in my little collection of body jewelry I found the 6 gauge barbell I was going to use for my tongue. It was a closeout sale, and I got it for 6 dollars because it only came in 5/8 and was (I think) external dropdown mill threading. Which means that out of the shaft of the 6 gauge barbell is a 14 gauge threaded post that screws into the ball (that was made for about 2 gauge) so I can see why people didn't want it. But for 6 dollars compared to about 30, I picked up 6-2 gauge. Anyways getting back on the stretching. After 2 hours of trying to get it in I did. I will not tell you the things I did for the other 110 minutes that I wasn't getting it in. The reason is because I don't want to sound stupid. But the way that "worked" is that I took a straw and cut two 1" pieces. Cut them both on one side. Took one of them and cutting half of it off, rolled it up, and put it in my frenum. When it opened it looked like a flesh tunnel. Then took the bigger one and rolled it up very tight, put it in the tunnel made by the first one and let it unroll. Now I don't really remember the utterly insane state of mind I was in to come up with that. But the pain from the plastic trying to open up against the skin went away after like 5 minutes. Which I must say was as only as bad as all the stretching before but much, much longer. I saw that it had opened up to about 6 gauge, then it was just pushing out the stretching tunnel with the barbell. After that, I once again following the cleaning that was done for the first one.

If you have a small frenum, and you want to gauge it, go for it. It's amazing to see how big it is now, and think about how it was when it started. Some tips for living with a frenum. I find that healing will go a lot faster if you take the jewelry out to masturbate, as long as you are sure it won't close up when you do take it out. The ring will always want to shift when the crusties harden, so clean it as soon as you see the crusties building up. Salt soaks are great. Early on I found that getting an erection during the nighttime is somewhat painful until it heals. I think the reason is that you are moving around and what not when you sleep. And every now and then, if you wear boxers, the ring will snag on the open of the boxers when you're walking or doing something. That will get your attention. Good luck with all your piercings and stretching.
