At A Glance Author anonymous Contact boredgoldfish@aol.com When A month ago Artist Bink Studio Advanced Tattoo's and Body piercing by Bink Location Tallahassee, Fl I pretty much forgot about piercings after I got my tongue pierced a year and a half ago. I don't remember what sparked my interest but I soon found myself looking all over the internet and eventually settling on bme. After getting over the initial shock of seeing various male genital piercings(Apadravya's, Dydoes, Large gauge scalpeled stuff) I began to really want some. I decided on the frenum piercing due to the fact that I could still pee standing up and it seemed less likely to affect sex, that is it seems like more of a aesthetic-oriented piercing. After studying up for a few weeks I decided I had given myself enough time
to think about it, and to make sure I would keep wanting these piercings. After trying to get pierced the first time I decided I wanted a lorum as well. Read below for the failed attempt.
So I called Advanced; the staff was friendly and answered a few questions over the phone(actually before I came in I talked to one of the piercers on a different day, who answered all my questions). Then the night before I was scheduled to get pierced came and I got drunk with a friend. Mistake #1. Then I found I wasn't all that tired and that my friend could snore quite loudly. So I stayed up all night. Mistake #2. After running a few errands I showed up at the shop and stared at the jewelry case for about an hour(really it took an hour) thinking about how huge the 10g barbell was. 30 min. after that I had the guts to decide to do it. I signed the sheet, picked out the jewelry and then paid for some Anti-microbial Satin soap.
After waiting around for everyone else to be done, it was time for me to go in. The piercer put up the blinds and got out the equipment.
After examining my then extremely shrunken member, she decided that it would be a bad idea to pierce the frenum as my foreskin was too tight. Mistake #3 was that I had failed to tell her that I was uncircumsized until about 5 min. before. I put my clothes back on and left feeling kinda depressed in addition to being extremely tired. So then I talked to Bink, who said that he trusted the other piercers judgement but that he would take a look(by this time I had decided I wanted the lorum in addition to a Frenum). I scheduled an appointment and he decided the frenum probably would not work, but that an Apadravya would work better. I paid for both piercings and
waited for him to finish up with the other customers. I had become attracted to the apadravya but was not certain I could take the intense pain, but I just decided I would get it all over with. Then I found out apadravya piercings don't close up if you choose to take them out years in the future. So I decided to just get a lorum.
I decided on a 12g(maybe a 10) CBR with a pretty dark blue/clear bead.
The tables were prepped, various tools were brought out. I recognized the penningtons and foresters(wrong spelling but I can't remember) from bme. Then I saw the needle... it looked HUGE.
And scary. So I distracted myself by looking at the various ornamental embellishments that were all around the pristine white room. He marked a spot and we looked at it moved the skin about(in this area its harder to tell how the piercing will hang or if it will be off because the skin is so elastic). I decided I wanted it higher up. So he marked it again. I can't remember too much of the experience but I rember him changing gloves several times, and that he cleaned the area down. Eventually it was time and I took once last glance at the needle and the clamps(which were not all that uncomfortable, just a moderate pinch if that) and looked straight up at the ceiling. On the third exhalation he pushed the needle through.
I think he was saying some reasuring words but I was too distracted.
The pain hurt more then I thought it would, but it still wasn't all that bad. And it lasted only 1-2 seconds, then was gone. I only barely registered the feeling of him putting the captive bead ring in. Then I looked down and he grabbed a little mirror for me to see better. He said; "So what do you think?", I said "it looks awesome!"
There was now a shiny pretty ring through my "cock cleavage"(a term a friend of mine would later coin). There was no blood but then about 20 sec. after, it started to bleed some. He wrapped it with some guaze or whatever and gave me an icepack to hold to it. I didn't figure in how hard it would be to walking around holding an icepack on the inside of your pants. He opened the door and I began to walk out then stopped dead as I saw a woman and her two daughters(one was probably my age but the other looked to about 10) sitting outside. I quickly shuffled back in the piercing room, all the while holding the icepack. Bink and the phone guy kind of distracted the mother and her kids, and I got out of the store a new man.
The bleeding wasn't that bad about two hours later and so I decided to go skate boarding with a few friends. Mistake #4. I thought I was taking it easy on it, but when we got back to a friends house I found that there was blood all over my scrotum. After washing it off I elected to discontinue skating for a while.
It didn't bleed past the 2nd day. Then a few days after that I started to get the crusties, and a whitish pus like stuff on the sides. I wasn't doing sea salt soaks at the time. I did not get a new after care instruction paper so I didn't know to do it. I thought maybe that was the problem so I started doing them and it has helped to keep the pus nearly nonexistent. I also wash twice a day with the ani-microbial soap. I did not experience any problem with how I walk due to this piercing.
If you get a lorum:
DO NOT turn the ring when you are washing it with soap. Apparently it used to be advised to do so, but it isn't advised around here anymore.
There's a reason why; you'll experience horrible burning pain. It it doesn't really help the piercing, it can actually hinder from what I have heard. I have not made that mistake(#5) again. As well I have noticed no ill effects from it being exposed to Irish spring soap. I have made no attempt to clean the actual piercing but cleaning the surrounding area has resulted in no pain. It has been about 2 and a half weeks now. The crusties quantity has gone down down and the piercing is still a bit tender if I turn the ring but it is doing quite well. Most people I have showed think its pretty cool, and my ex-girlfriend really likes it(I had to show her).
As for the frenum? I might still get it done as it COULD work. My enthusiasm for genital piercings has cooled off some(though I still love my lorum). I've already paid for two piercings so I could get that or possibly a lip piercing or if I can find evidence that shows that apadravyas can close up years later I will get that. I'll write about whatever I get though, hopefully I'll have it figured out in a few weeks.
As for the shop I went to; they were great. I was very satisfied with the professionalism of the employees, the cleanliness f the place, and the knowledge that the staff had about everything.
Advanced is very well known as having very qualified people. And Bink is renowned by many to be the best piercer in town.
