My frenum.

Currently I have two piercings, one in my eyebrow, and the second is a genital frenum. This will be about my frenum, and has two parts. The first:

For the longest time I was completely against all such things. Then one day my mind changed and I got the eyebrow done. It was very hasty but with no regrets, but still my mind remained against most other body modifications. Most particularly I could never understand why male of sound mind, would want his penis pierced. I don't know how it happened but I started to think about the idea, and the more I thought, the more it intrigued me.

With the idea of a genital piercing fresh in my brain, I started talking to close friends, to get opinions from women and those who knew about such things. I quickly took a high interest in body modification and was referred to this web-site, which has proven to be a grand source of knowledge to me.

Through this site I found photos and stories of other people's experiences, and after reading and viewing, I decided that of all available, the frenum would be the only one I thought I would be able to go through with. The next step was the proper studio. I'd been to Ancient Arts before, for my eyebrow and was very happy with it, so I decided to go back. It took me the longest time to get there. I was going away and didn't want it done before that just in case there was a problem. So when I got back I made an appointment and went down there.

I went alone, as most of my close friends live in Nova Scotia (my place of origin). It was a little more expensive than I had expected based on other shops, but I was happy to pay because I knew it would be done properly and cleanly. I had to wait awhile because all the tools were being autoclaved. I did not mind though the anticipation was killing me. I was practically shaking and my "bits 'n' pieces" had shrunk considerably. A fact that I'm sure was a laugh when I left! Anyways, I was walked through the procedure and taking through the aftercare instructions. I was familiar with all this from my eyebrow; there was little difference with the frenum. The basics: sea salts and antibacterial soap.

When I went into the little room where the procedure would be done, I was very nervous. I decided on a 14g curved barbell with 5mm beads, this was a common use, Terry, my piercer told me. He got everything required for the job, and drew some dots on my penis. He asked me if this looked ok. I said it did, and he then gave me some privacy and told me to get an erection to make sure everything was straight centered and to get a measurement. After all this was done, he came back in, sized a barbell and started the procedure.

He put the clamp on my penis and lined up the holes. Next he told me to take a deep breath and look away. Suddenly, I felt a sharp and very uncomfortable pain, but thank god, a brief one. It was not too painful, I think my anticipation cause me greater aggravation than was due from the needle. The next part was to pull the barbell through, this was very uncomfortable, its just not an area I need such a feeling to be had. It was pulled through quickly and was done with. The bead was screwed on, the area wrapped up just in case there was any blood on the trip home (there was none), I paid and left, very pleased with my new piercing.

I had no hitches with my piercing. Over the next 2 weeks it healed well. I did find it hard to abstain from sexual gratification and gave in one more than one occasion.

Approximately two weeks later, some of my friends had asked to see my piercing. We were at school and I agreed but was rushed as I had a class to get to. We went to a private area and I showed them, zipped up and ran to class. As I took off I felt a sharp pull, couldn't be good I though, but I can't exactly check it out right here or now. It was later that night I was home and able to take a look, which brings me to the second part of the story.

My piercing was gone! The sharp pull was my barbell getting caught upon my zipper and the loosely screwed bead popping off. The barbell was gone, having fallen out of my pant leg at some point during the day, I found only one bead left; and the hole half closed and rapidly healing. There was no hope it was gone. I did not have the transportation to the studio nor another bar to fit in the whole. It takes me about an hour and a half on 2 buses to get to my piercing studio, so it was awhile before I got back. This however let it completely heal readying me to have the procedure done all over again.

When I finally got back to the studio, Terry quickly took me through the whole thing again. The one bonus was I got to slightly adjust the position to make it just perfect. I was very impressed with Terry, whom offered that if I had called when the first one fell out, he would have driven to me with the jewelry since I had no transportation. Home delivery for your piercing needs, that was impressive and I know in the future not to hesitate if I can't make it to the studio. I also took the measure of buying the extra bar, which recently came into use, when cleaning the area and finding one of the beads to be loose. I actually stripped it, I think, but was easily able to replace the bead with one from my extra bar.

Overall I regret nothing, and have been very happy with my piercing. I love the way it looks and feels and the ladies seem to like it.
