I have been into getting pierced for less than a year now. I started with getting my ear lobes done at the mall. Since then I have been pierced 14 times. I now have 2g lobes, two cartilage piercings, my tongue web, an industrial, a quad navel, both nipples, and of course my new 8g frenum. I have had some great experiences being pierced, but I have also had some very bad experiences that ended in a four day hospital stay. This is not one of those experiences.

I did a lot of research on the piercing reading experiences just like this one on BME. I did look at lots of genital piercings before I finally decided on the frenum. I had looked at PA's as well as scrotal piercings, but I decided the frenum looked the best and would be the easiest.
After I had decided on the piercing that I wanted, I had to decide what kind of jewelry I wanted to put in it. I knew I wanted a barbell. I had looked at rings but I always thought they looked like they were ready to rip out. I don't know if that's true or not, but I also liked the way barbells looked. I ordered my jewelry online because it is much cheaper than getting it at a shop. I ordered an 8g, half inch long stainless steel barbell. It was externally threaded, but the threads were smaller than the diameter of the bar so it would not be a problem being inserted. I had chosen to go with a larger gauge because, first, I was going to stretch it anyway. And I also heard that the piercing was not comfortable until it was at an 8g. I also did not want it to get ripped out because the skin is so thin in that area.
I was then faced with the problem of finding a piercer to do the piercing. My usual piercer that I know and trust had never done a penis piercing before. I trusted her, but not that much. I asked around trying to find a piercer that not only did genital piercings, but did them well. That's when I found Jason. My friend Karla worked at one of the three shops he owns. He also came highly recommended by my friends Erin and Jenna. I went into Primitive Impressions to talk to Jason. He has been doing genital piercings for eight years. He had several himself and had done some of them himself. He assured me it was a very easy piercing, even at such a large gauge. He made me feel very comfortable with the whole thing and was the reason that I went through with it. I did not get the piercing at this point. I waited a few more weeks.
About three weeks later I went into Primitive Impressions to get my piercing. I brought my friend Mike because I don't like to go to get pierced alone. Mike is not pierced at all but still pretends to be interested. Jason had a few appointments to get out of the way before me. I waited for about ten minutes and then Jason told me to come into the closed piercing room. He had laid down some towels for me to sit on. I sat on a kind of table like they have at the doctors. He had laid out all of the materials he was using. He showed me what all the different tools would be used for. He then had me take off my pants and boxers so he could mark me. I wanted it placed just below the head. He marked it and asked me if I liked the placement. I did and he proceeded to clamp me with the forceps. This was very comfortable, no pinching at all. He then removed the needle from the package and put some lubrication on it. He then told me not to watch the piercing because 8g needles are a sc ary sight. They really are, especially when you have only been pierced at a 14g. But I like to watch all my piercings get done. I want to be a piercer someday so I'm very curious. He told me to take a deep breath in, and when I let it out, he would push the needle through. This was the point where I got really nervous. Even though all the experiences I read said that there was very little pain with this piercing, I was scared to death. He pushed the needle through and it was just a pinch. No extreme pain, no spurting blood. Just a little drop that he cleaned up with a cotton swab. The whole thing took less than five minutes. He then told me about aftercare. Sea salt soaks every day. No oral sex or unprotected sex for 4-6 weeks. Don't use antibacterial soap every day because it will dry out the foreskin. I then left the shop feeling great about what I had done.
Later that day, I had a lot of crusty blood on it. I washed it off with warm water. It does not hurt at all. It's not sore like most piercings are the day you get them. Today I cleaned it in the show and it shows not problems at all. It is a little black and blue around the hole. I believe this is normal and have few worries. I highly recommend this piercing for anyone wanting to get a genital piercing. It is very easy piercing. I also recommend Jason Morningstar for ANY piercing. He has years and years of experience. Also, I have never felt more comfortable with any piercer. When I do decide to get another piercing, he will be the one to do it. My friends think it is a bit wierd, but I love it. I plan on getting at least one more if this one works out.
