My story runs to the tune of this... I'm out of state on business for two weeks and bored as hell. I just dropped off a colleague of mine at an airport and figured... "What the hell, I may as well get my frenum pierced." After all, I had to outdo this chick I knew who just got both of her nipples pierced.

I proceeded to go to this mall in Bismark, ND. I asked the first person I saw for directions to Derma Design and was promptly told that I was in the wrong mall and need to do a bit of traveling to the other side of town. The person was kind enough to provide me with directions to the other mall.

I found the correct mall without any problems (thank you whomever you were for the good directions!). I walked into the studio calm and easy-going as I usually am. I had already done my research on the internet so I knew what I was getting myself into and I wasn't worried.

After looking at some tattoo art for a couple minutes I found an employee and asked if I could get my frenum pierced. The employee brought me to talk to this piercing/tatooist named Randy. Randy was doing a good job of explaining the piercing to me but I interrupted him and told him I didn't need to know anything about it... I already knew what it was, how to care for it, etc.

I was asked if I would like to set up an appointment for the piercing. I didn't realize that I needed an appointment... I thought it was a walk-in get pierced and walk-out smiling establishment. I was new to the whole tattoo/body-piercing thing. I let Randy know that wasn't going to work for me, I was only in town for that one day just to drop someone off at the airport, and I wouldn't be rolling through there again for another week or more (that would be enough time to change my mind).

After a moment of thought, he agreed to do the piercing right then and there. We walked out to the front area and I was asked about which type of jewelry I wanted for my piercing. I had chosen a 16ga barbell (give me a break, this was my first piercing). I was then given some paperwork to fill out and also I was asked to show proper identification. I filled out the paper in about a minute or so and I presented them with my out-of-state license. I then proceeded to pay them (and no I didn't use any of my travel money from my employer).

Okay, although I paid for the piercing, I could still back out. Even though I was sitting on a tabletop in the side room where I was lead with my pants down and some guy I didn't know getting ready to put a piece of metal into me, the thought of backing out never crossed my mind. As I was lying on my back staring at the ceiling, my mind was cleared of all thoughts. I wasn't thinking about an intense pain, or anything like that. I was just waiting for the man to tell me it was over and everything went good. I felt a small sharp pain that wasn't even bad.

I was surprised... this was my first piercing ever... and it didn't even hurt. I took maybe a couple of minutes to do totally. When Randy was finished with the piercing, I was told all of the care instructions for the piercing, what to do and what not to do. Also I was told that it was a good deep piercing and shouldn't have any problems. I inspected my new piercing quickly... no blood... bonus! It looked and felt amazing. It made me feel weird and invincible (after all, there are many things that could go wrong getting your junx pierced).

I promptly thanked Randy, shook his hand, and walked out of the door. I was walking through that mall trying not to show an ear-to-ear grin. I wanted to yell out... "guess what I just did?!" I resisted that temptation though as hard as it was.

As I exited the mall, I noticed that there were a couple police officers questioning some man outside of his car a couple parking spaces away from my car. I walked up to one of the officers (because I just had to) and asked for directions to the freeway. He pointed over his shoulder and said, "right over there". I kind of felt like a dumbass, when he pointed it out... I was just too excited to really pay attention.

The whole four hours of driving I did back to my hotel I was 150% juiced up. I didn't want to drive... I wanted to run. This was one of the sweetest experiences I had ever felt.

Two years later now and I still have the piercing. Needless to say, my body accepted the piercing just fine. For about a year I was afraid to take out the original jewelry. Finally I did. The only reason I had taken it out was because I bought a taper. I stretched it from a 16ga to a 14ga (this is something to be careful of if doing yourself, I have heard many shops will do stretching for free, or a small charge). I'll probably go lower yet. I've also been recently thinking of getting a frenum ladder.

Proud to say everything still works and life is still great. If you don't have a private piercing, you are missing out on a whole new experience. It's great having a secret like this, just knowing people would freak out if you told them.
