I've been in search of the perfect piercing that's right for me.

I had a pierced nipple, and PA – but they just didn't do it for me, so I took them out. After I ended a recent relationship, I started thinking about getting pierced again, and delved back onto the internet to look at pictures and read personal experiences. I really wanted to get a genital piercing again, but wasn't yet ready to get my PA done again. After thinking about my PA experience, I'm convinced now that I had the wrong jewelry – it was a circular barbell that kept slipping into my urethra (ouch!) and was too small and pinched a lot - I think it was 10 ga. So...the frenum piercing seemed perfect for me. I liked the way it was described about being able to increase sensation and all that. Plus, of course, it looks so cool.

It's funny about a genital piercing. It's something that you really do for yourself, since not too many people are going to be seeing it. I'm single now – so the universe of people who will see it is pretty small. That will change, hopefully, in the future – but I'm really curious about how people (namely potential dates or sexual partners) will regard such a piercing. I plan to be very upfront and candid about it – and not just whip it out in front of a guy in a "check this out" kind of way. Kind of tests other people's willingness to think "out of the box," don't you think? While to others it may seem extreme, to me it makes me feel even in more in touch with my own body. And of course, there's also that kick of just knowing my dick is pierced as I go about my daily life.

Ok – so to the actual experience itself. It was a brisk fall day and I headed down to Philadelphia to Infinity Body Piercing Studio. They're the ones that did my PA, and I don't think I would trust a genital piercing to any other studio. When I got my PA, I was impressed by their shop, employees and the way they handled everything. After I found a rare parking space on the street – this is the South Street area in Philly, a very touristy place -–I made my way toward the studio. Despite having been pierced twice already, the adrenaline being to kick in.

I timed my trip so I got to the studio right after it opened. I preferred not to have the place teeming with people, since I'm older than the typical customer. I spoke to Jim and told him what I wanted. My first concern was that I was too veiny, so I went into one of the piercing rooms to discuss placement. Once Jim assured me that the placement would be lower than the very veiny section - in the part with really loose skin - then we went back out into the shop to do paperwork and pick out jewelry.

He recommended a straight barbell and suggested either a 10 gauge or 8 gauge. I asked him what the difference was, and he told me that the larger gauge would get irritated less easily - once healed. So I opted for the 8 gauge (3/4") and had to go with titanium (very high tech) since they were out of the surgical steel in that size. Once I paid up: $35 for the piercing and $40 for the barbell – back we went.

The piercing room was like a doctor's office. Very clean – and everything, and I mean everything hygienically wrapped. I remembered this from last time - but all the same – it was reassuring to see it. Jim even changed gloves between the prepping and the actual piercing.

The placement was selected with some careful scrutiny by Jim – and a sketch with a marker right on my dick. We talked about how lots of frenum piercings are actually too high and placed through the much thinner tissue – which can cause the piercing to actually migrate out – yikes. Throughout the entire time, Jim was very professional and put me at ease totally. The placement actually turned out to be through the very loose skin about an inch below the head of the penis. I'm circumcised – so there's plenty of tissue to work with.

Now the fun (!?) part. He took some type of clamp/forceps device to isolate the area to pierce – similar to what they use for nipples piercing. Ok – it was time to close my eyes. He asked me if I was ready. Wow – my heart rate began to pick up – and I took three deep breaths – inhaling and exhaling deeper and deeper. On the third exhale I was pierced. Ouch. But really not that bad. About on par with the PA, I guess. But in retrospect, the nipple piercing seemed to hurt most. But the nipple was my first piercing – so who knows.

Well – jewelry was in - wow. And I had this post-pierce rush. Jim wrapped me up in gauze and I sat out in the studio just to chill out before hitting the street. I know that sometime people get a little nauseous or dizzy or faint after being pierced, so I was just playing it safe. All in all, I'd say that the experience was a great one. There's nothing like walking out of that place with your dick freshly pierced...and the world just looks a little different. It's hard to explain unless you've been there.

This all happened just yesterday, so it's very fresh in my mind. There's been very minimal bleeding, and no soreness – just what looks like some bruising. Or that could be the marker that didn't wash all the way off. Who knows? I was concerned the my nighttime erection would wake me up in pain, but it just didn't happen.

I would recommend Infinite if you are anywhere near Philly. I drove about an hour to get there, but it's worth even driving farther if you have to. As for the sexual enhancement, well, you'll just have to send me an email and I'll let you know.
