I'm not really a novice when it comes to piercing as I have had a PA for over 5 years and have had a Frenum before. Just recently I had both of my nipples done, but I was browsing BME today and got the itch to get some more hardware. I had been thinking about piercing my Frenum for a while but cost had made it prohibitive-getting a ladder was just plain out of the question. So I finally got the nerve to get at least my Frenum done and checked out some local piercing shops. I had been to two others in Orlando that are very reputable so I decided to check out a new place closer to home, Incredible Ink Tattoo, Inc (for those tourists coming to Orlando it's right off International Drive, which is where most tourists not staying at local attractions find themselves). I met PJ and we discussed what effects the piercing would have on me in the sexual sense (both with and without a partner). The advice was the same for my PA--wait until it heals completely and the catch phrase of piercers "Keep it Clean-Wash Your Hands!" PJ suggested I really consider getting the ladder as it was what I really wanted in the first place, but, as I said, cost was prohibitive. I ended up deciding to wait until I could afford to start a ladder. I left feeling bummed out.

I walked back in 10 minuets later and told him I wanted to get 3 piercings to start my ladder. PJ seemed happy and his apprentice, Jessica, asked if she could watch. To me this is not a problem--new piercers have to get an education some how and as I see it, if your going to get your penis pierced you better like showing it to people because everyone will want to see it. PJ took me back to the room and started to prep for the piercing. As an EMT I was interested in knowing how clean things were which led me to ask if they used new needles or autoclaved and reused. He explained that only new needles were used and showed me the sealed packages that contained the sterile needles and 12 ga. barbells. He also showed me the biohazard disposal container for used needles. Feeling secure that things were clean and tidy, I laid down and pulled it out to get ready.
Since I had already had a Frenum 5 years ago and I had let it grow out, I have a lot of scar tissue in the area compounded by the fact that I'm circumcised (which I hate and hope that all prospective fathers and mother out there check out why they shouldn't get their kids circumcised-- http://www.nocirc.org/ ). Don't get me wrong, you could never tell from looking at my dick, but it's something that all men who are circumcised should be aware of. So I laid down on the table and PJ and Jessica start to make marks on where I wanted to have the first piercing. I decided to space them pretty close together, but not close enough so that they would hit each other. As PJ cinched up the forceps he told me to get ready for the piercing. For any first time piercee's you really need to time your breathing to the piercing. I didn't do that the first time and I wasn't prepared for it to hurt as bad. It went thru quickly, but because of the scar tissue from my prior piercing and circumcision it was painful. The pain subsided VERY quickly however. I think PJ could tell that I was a little uncomfortable and asked if I wanted to take a second or even not do the second one. I butched up and said I was ok and that we could go on to the next one. The second piercing I think hurt worse than then first one because it was more in the vicinity of my scars. Again, they pain was very short lived and my first thought was that I'm more then half over.
The third and final piercing of the day was a breeze compared to the first two. PJ and Jessica made the marks and I was expecting it to hurt as bad as the first two. Because this piercing was below the circumcision scar, it went through without nearly as much resistance, and hence, pain. I can't describe how much better this last piercing was over the first two in terms of pain. It was not pain free but was MUCH more bearable. I think PJ and Jessica were just as excited as I was with their work. The piercings are perfectly center on my dick and straight. I was very pleased to see such good work and I feel that it looks very sexy on me. Jessica got out the camera and took several pictures for their portfolio. I was more then happy to help them out by taking pictures because it was to me simply a perfect piercing. PJ provided me with all the aftercare instructions and I left confident that I will be back as soon as possible to get my next three in the ladder as soon as I can.
A few final thoughts about this piercing. First, I gave this a fair amount of though before I decided to do this. Practical things you make want to take into consideration are 1) Sex --you will have to wait until it heals and anal sex may be a longer wait then vaginal. 2) Condoms--should always be a must, but especially now. 3) Masturbation --we all do it. You WILL want to partake in this most likely as soon as you can. You might want to weigh how long you can do without it and also your grip on your penis, because it might need to change ( Who knew, right?). 4) Tenderness-You will be tender for a few days, but nothing unmanageable. 5) Blood-I found this to be an almost bloodless piercing for me. I don't know if that will be the same for everyone but the only blood I had were small drops on either side of the piercing that clotted quickly.
So all this said, IT WAS TOTALLY WOTH IT. I can't tell you how happy I was with this total experience. PJ, Jessica, and Incredible Ink were very professional and I would recommend them to anyone visiting Orlando or the locals here in the area. This is one piercing that looks great and is very manageable for the first timers.
