Well Im writing this story mainly as a testimony to the humor at which those of us pierced and tattooed sometimes encounter. And this occation is one such tale.

I used to help my buddy Dan at his Tattoo shop in California with shop stuff, answering phones, tracing tattoo's, bidding ect. "Shop Monkey". And I loved it. We had hired this piercer, due to the numerous people asking for piercings in the past months, (this was in 93). He was a bit flakey, wasnt reliable to show up when we needed him, and left customers hanging when he promised to be there, since this wasnt shop policy, from a cell call an hour away, letting us know he wasnt coming in for a while we had to let him go, since the customer showed up and the piercer didnt.

Dan and I were talking about all the supplies he bought and if he was thinking of replacing the firee, and Dan didnt plan on it for a while. "well, we have all this equipment, we should do something with it." Dan was like, "If you want to pierce anything, its free." I jumped on the oportunity, since all I had done was my ears and nipple pierced. I thought about it and wondered what I really wanted. "A frenum", thats what I wanted. Dan in his comfortable manner said, "Ok". But I wanted to do this on my own, "I want to pierce it myself." "Ok", Dan said.

I've seen enough people get pierced, I knew the preperation, I knew the set up. So I went to work. After I layed everything out, I sat my self in a chair, had my pants and boxers around my ankles, had my unit prepped and ready, in one hand I had the needle, in the other and nice cork, and in between was my penis in forceps balanced with my pinkys and ring fingers. I had a nice mark to follow, and was ready. This was it, a nice transition for me. To be able to pierce myself, I was really excited. I anticipatd the rush, I usually get before a piercing, or tattoo. Took a deep breath and Bam!

Now you know when you get a piercing, there is this welling up of aticipation, makes you a bit tense and really excited when you are ready for the needle. And when that needle hits the cork its like all that energy floods out of your system instantly. Then there is this calm peacefullness that takes you over. ( at least for me ) Well the calm hit, and the needle never made it to the cork. I was sitting there with a needle halfway through its job, and no energy to finish. I mustered up all the strength I could to push, and nothing. I tried again, nothing. I started to laugh, and my friends wondered what was so funny, I said "come in". They pulled the drape back, and there sat Me, pants around my ankles, rubber gloves on, surgeons tray in from of me with all the proper tools. Forceps pinching the hell out of my penis, and a trickle of blood. "I couldnt do it, no strength". Still laughing. Dan steps up and gets right down to business, squared up the situation and says, "take three deep breaths and on three, your pierced". "OK", I said. "One, (breath), Two (breath), (Pierce), .....what? no three. there went the rush again, twice in a 5 minute period. "You werent expecting it", Dan said. I love that guy.

He put the jewlery in, and I pulled my pants up. and walked out front to the couch. sat down with a big grin on my face. And figured, I 'll leave the piercing to the piercer not the piercee. shortly after dan did my PA, and my septum. And since this occurance. I now have a 4 step frenum ladder with the orginal step at a 2 ga. and the following are 10's. and my ears out at 2ga. also. the others are gone, but I think these will remain.

This was my first genital piercing experiment, and a great one at that. Its good to have such close friends.

Dan is still a good friend, havent had much time to speak with him since I live in another state & much time has passed. But his shop is doing very well, and so is he. He was eager to bring me in. I wanted to be a tattoo artist. Dan was willing to apprentice me, and I was not so confirmed in my calling, since I felt I needed more art expierience. I ended up going to an art college and getting sucked into the corporate Ideas in Graphic Design. I love design, but miss the art. I think the problem is that I desire living canvas, and not corporate bank logos. So I am currently undergiong the transition back to tattoo artist. I lookforeward to when my skill has risen, and maybe I can take Dan up on his offer, and we can work together.

Hey Dan, Love you Brother.
