Where to begin. I have always been curious about piercings since I really knew about them. I liked the somewhat "different" ones. I have been curious for quite a while, and hope not to be labeled as too 'trendy', if you wish to, so be it. Anyways, back to the point, I really like tongue pierceings and belly button rings on girls. I've wanted a tongue piercing since eighth grade, but never actually did it. A combination of wussiness and the knowledge that my parents both: wouldn't let me do it, and if I did, would be very pissed and probably make me take it out, has caused me not to move to action.

Then, with the advent of the Internet, I started seeing other pierceings. Mostly I just saw girls Labia, and guys and girls nipples pierced. A nipple ring wasn't very appealing, and again just not right for me. Then I started seeing male genital pierceings. Most of them just looked painful; till I saw one on some site I can't remember....a Frenum. I loved it. I thought it looked good and tasteful, and it didn't even look that painful.

About this time I finally got my girlfriend to pierce her bellybutton, which we both like a lot. This, along with my new-found piercing, spawned my curiosity. I began research (thus finding BME) and getting serious about Pierceing my Frenum. Finally, I ordered a needle and a ring (12 ga), and went out and bought some gloves, beta dine, and other necessary stuff. I had already decided that I would be too chicken to go to a professional, and after reading other Frenum stories, decided I was well capable to do it to myself. So I ordered the jewelry. I chose to get a Niobium "oil slick" 1/2" ring, with a screw on bead. (Great place, jcjewelry.com, lots of good stuff) To my dismay it took forever to come, I had ordered something "custom" without knowing it, because I got Niobium. I was getting ancy and pissed off, when today, it finally came. I was so jittery and excited; I couldn't wait to do it.

I had already planned that I would go to the single bathroom on the first floor and lock myself in, and do it there (I am at college, virtually no free time/ privacy). I got all my stuff together, needle, gloves, antiseptic, pliers, band-aids, lotion, tape, and ring. I washed up and put the gloves on, then disinfected. This process was actually pretty horrible. It is so hot up here right now, and I bought some cheap gloes, so they were a little small for me. It took forever to get them on, but I finally did, and i was drenched in sweat from my nearves and the heat. I marked where I wanted my ring to go, and checked it out for larger blood-vessels and anything else that may make things harder. Finally, I opened my needle, swabbed it with betadine, and lined it up. Things were kinda awkward, but I got the tip of the needle to the right place eventually (With plenty of shaking on my part, at this point I was quite nervous) and started adding pressure. The way i was situated I had my left hand pulling up some of my skin, and my right hand was holding the needle. It started to go in, and I could let go of the needle and it wouldn't fall out. It was barely in, and I was shaking so bad I accidentally pulled it out. I collected myself for a while, calmed down, and started again. I breathed deep and kept telling myself it wouldn't be so bad, and that I really wanted to do it. This time, all was good. It didn't hurt, I just applied constant pressure and let the super sharp needle do the work. I held my skin up and pushed with the end of my middle finger, and my pointer and thumb held the skin on the other side of the needle. The worst part was when it first popped through the other side, it surprised me, and hurt a bit, but then it wasn't so bad. Just a tiny bit of blood, no problems. To get the needle all the way in, i held the skin up off my penis and used my middle finger with constant pressure to push through. At this point, I just closed my eyes (knowing everything was lined up) and pushed steadily. Finally, I looked down, and it was all done.

I lubed up the needle a bit with beta dine, and slid the needle through almost to the end. Then, I added just a dab of lotion to the needle and ring, lined them up, and slid it through. Lastly, I applied a generous amount of beta dine, and swished it around good. All done! It didn't hurt, and it looked great. And boy, what a rush!! I was so jittery and anxious and everything, it felt great.

I would say, if you want it, do it. Yeah, you probably are better off going with a professional, but if you are like me, and want to do it on your own, don't be afraid, just be very careful, patient, and smart about it, and things will work out great. Good luck!
