Over the winter break and after thinking about it for a month I got my lip done, just a little off center to the right side. That was my first experience in piercing. I have friends that have gotten different piercings and I have watched quite a few different ones being done.

So after I got my lip done I was really thinking about getting another piercing. I wanted something else done, I was thinking about getting my tragus or an industrial. I didn't want an industrial for then i would have two holes i would have to clean. And I didn't want a tragus since that was to much cartilage for me. I have a feeling that cartilage piercings would be too pain full. I also wanted a piercing that really wasn't visible, something that only I really knew about. Something for me. That only left Nipples, navel and genital. I didn't really want my nipples done, they aren't that sensitive to begin with so I didn't see a point to get mine done. The navel really didn't seem that interesting to me either. That left a genital piercing. Two of my good friends get a PA recently. That got me thinking about a PA but it still didn't really spark my interest. Then I saw the frenum, it looked like it would be a very interesting piercing for both me and my future partners.

Well I was originally going to get it done in Anchorage over spring break but Jason at the Body Piercing Unlimited (BPU) down there highly suggested Ryan up at the BPU here in town. I had a friend that wanted to get her nipple done so we decided to go and get them done at the same time. For moral support and the such. Well I went in to BPU and talked with Ryan about the piercing in general and he was really helpful in answering my questions. We discussed the pros and cons of this piercing and he gave me his views on it (he had one for a while). Well I told I would be back as soon as I gathered up enough cash to get it done. It was going to set me back 70$. My lip was 51$ So I figured it was a fair price. Luckily later that week I was able to find a buyer for some of my old collectable cards. I was able to get 60$ from them. So I was all ready to get it done. By this time I had been thinking about the piercing for a little under a month.

I called up the shop to see if Ryan was working, he was there but he was leaving in a few mins and asked if I minded waiting till the next day (saturday). I didn't matter to me so I told him I'd be by the next day.

So the next day I was awaken by my friend (who was going to get her nipple done when i got my frenum) knocking on my door asking if I was ready to go. I had only been asleep for a few hours so told her we would go later. She jokingly mumbled something about me chickening out and stalling. I finally woke myself up and listened to some music trying to amp myself up for what was going to happen.

Finally we drove over to BPU and climbed the stairs to the shop. I talked to Ryan and filled out the paperwork and payed the bill. The whole piercing experience was no big deal really. He said that it would hurt less then my lip. I went to the back room and sat down. I dropped my pants and he started measuring. I was going to get a 10ga barbell but they were out of 10ga so I got a 12ga. Now that I look at it, I'm quite happy with the 12 ga.

Well I watched him do the placement, agreed with it and watched him place the clamp on. While he was doing this he explained what each step was for and what he was going to do next. Then when he went to get the needle I laid back and started concentrating on my breathing. The pain was sharp and kind of of suprising but it didn't hurt any where close to when i got my lip done (which felt like i had popped a zit). So he threaded on the barbell and told me he was done and that I could take my time getting up and asked if i wanted some water. My adrenaline was soaring and I was getting a little bit jittery. So I drank a little water and went out to the waiting room to wait for my friend to get her nipple done. While I was out there I didn't feel a thing, no pain not a thing. So after my friend got her nipple done (maybe i can convince her to submit her story here) we left on the search for liquid dial.

As I am writing this it is 3 or 4 hours after it happened. There was no blood at first but right before I sat down to type this I checked things out and there was a bit of blood that i cleaned up. All in all I'm quite happy with the job Ryan did as well with the deed I went through.
