Wasted frenum |

With a few tattoos already in my collection, I have long considered adding a piercing to the collection. Of course, being actively interested in S&M, it had to be a genital piercing.I suppose I have to add that I am a male South African. Locally the interest in tattoos is not that much, and people sporting them are still considered freakish. However, some commercial tattoo studios and piercers are available.
After talking to a few tattoo artists that also do piercing, my choice fell on a studio that specialises in piercings. At first I wanted an ampallang, but decided to try things out at first, and settled on a frenum piercing. The staff recommended for a barbell to be worn through the piercing, but I insisted on a ring.
So in November 1998 I had my first piercing. The pain was absolutely nothing and I was impressed with the staff's attention to hygiene and aftercare instructions. The piercing bled very little, if at all. The piercing healed fairly quickly. It caused no discomfort whatsoever and I was completely thrilled by it. In fact it increased sensation during intercourse or masturbation. I used to insert a lock through the ring, and wearing it increased the sensation.
However, the jewellery was still too small for my taste. I wanted something larger. In February of 1999 I returned to the same studio. A larger ring was requested. The staff obliged and fitted a larger ring, larger both in diameter and gauge. It was still too small for my taste, but I decided to let the piercing stretch even more to allow the insertion of a still larger piece of jewellery.
The bigger captive ring was much more to my satisfaction. With it inserted, my partner refused intercourse, fearing that the larger ring would hurt her. Of course this was not a problem, as enforced chastity is one of my interests.
After a week or two I noticed that the hole around the jewellery was stretching very nicely. Instead of a hole, the actual piercing itself transformed into a slot, instead of a mere hole. I was able to insert a lock and other jewellery through this slot, which resulted in a fair amount of weight supported in the piercing. This was really great, and I looked forward to having additional piercings done.
However, in April 1999 I started noticing that the frenum was becoming extremely thin. The ring started to be uncomfortable too, with a discomforting pain whenever it got twisted. I decided that the additional material I inserted in the slot, could be too heavy and refrained from using it. I had hoped that taking it a bit calmer would allow the skin to restore itself a bit.
In about June 1999, to my horror, the frenum broke in two. I was still standing at an urinal, when suddenly I had the captive ring in my hand. One sliver of frenum was still attached to the glans of the penis, the other end to my foreskin. Fortunately no else was present to witness my predicament. Neither ends of the separated frenum was raw or bled. I was suddenly just settled with no remaining piercing.
I did not return to the studio that performed the piercing to find out what went wrong. I suppose that it could have been any one of a few factors, and would like to hear what the probable cause could have been.
One explanation was that the ring was a bad choice. Unfortunately I am not that clued up and cannot remember the gauge of either rings. The last, bigger ring was about 1,5 inches in diameter. Is a ring a bad choice for a frenum piercing, and should I have opted for a barbell instead ?
The other explanation I can think of was that the diameter of the ring was too big, allowing the ring to twist and turned helped to increase friction and just worn the frenum out.
As I stated earlier, I used to insert other objects in the slot which had formed. It was never painful at all to wear a lock for example. In this case it could have been gravity which was to blame.
I did not get the impression that the piercing studio was at fault at all. Maybe it was my own abuse of the piercing which led to its demise.
Now I am saddled with the problem that my foreskin looks like a big polo neck jersey. There is no frenum anymore. The foreskin can be rolled back over my penis. It's appearance is like a botched circumcision job, and the big question is what to do now ?
I suppose I could have the thing circumcised, to round things off a little bit, or have piercings through the foreskin. I must confess that I am a bit hesitant now, maybe piercings just not agree with me.
I would like to find out from readers what their suggestions are, to leave it as is, or can anybody suggest piercings which could complement the "frenumless" look. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I should add that any piercings would be "temporary" if all my plans work out. In the far future I am planning a full nullo, as my wife and I decided that we both would like to be nullified. Currently I am undergoing a year's psychological evaluation to let the doctors decide whether I am crazy wanting to be castrated. After castration I plan to have the penis removed. It appears whether voluntary male castration will be possible in South Africa, but we have had no success in trying to get a clitoridectomy and infibulation for my wife yet. If anybody knows of clinics/doctors elsewhere that will perform such operations, I will be glad to hear from you.
