I got two dydoe genital piercings, one at the 10 o'clock and one at the 2 o'clock positions, 3 and a half years ago, on September 14, 2004. Here is a detailed account of the process:

I went to Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley, CA on Saturday, September 11, knowing there were many piercing studios there and thinking I could get pierced without an appointment. The first place I inquired at said the only person they had qualified to do dydoes worked on Tuesdays. The second place said they didn't do them. The third place cautioned me that dydoes always migrate and said I should get an Apadryava instead. Realizing I was set on dydoes, they recommended a place in San Francisco, which I called, and they said the piercer worked Wednesdays and Fridays. I went back to the first place and made an appointment.
When I showed up on Tuesday, the studio was all locked up with an apologetic sign on the door. I had intentionally skipped two piercing studios on my previous search, but anxious, and since I had already taken the afternoon off work, I figured I might as well inquire at them. The first one said the dydoe piercer worked on Wednesdays. My final hope was a girlish looking place called Wicked. There was a guy there who could do it on the spot. He turned out to be a very good piercer. Unfortunately, the store removed the piercing section of it shortly after this experience.
Part II- The piercings
The piercer told me to choose 16 or 14 gauge slightly curved barbells and I chose 14. I pulled down my pants and sat on some blue towels. He cleaned my dick with some gunk on a Q-tip and marked the entrance and exit points with some purple stuff on a toothpick. I didn't like where he'd marked the left side (it was more like 11 o'clock) so he wiped it off with the gunky cleaning stuff and remarked it.
He pierced the left side first. As it began, my butt clenched and lifted off the chair. There was a constant painful sensation for several seconds as he put the needle through; starting behind the glans and moving into the head in a curved U shape to mirror the barbell to be inserted. I didn't really feel the barbell being put in. The right side was different. There was the initial pain that made my butt clench but then there followed another distinct and intense pain that made my whole body clench. Thankfully, that pain quickly subsided and I didn't feel a thing after that except a sense of extreme euphoria. There was absolutely no blood from either side.
Part III- The healing process
I wore extremely baggy pants to the piercer and am glad I did. I continued wearing these pants for the next five days but wish I had worn them for six. The first evening I began soaking my dick in a cup of warm water mixed with ¼ teaspoon sea salt for ten minutes. It was awkward to maneuver into the cup at first, but finally I put the cup on a thigh high cabinet and stood above it while keeping my dick pushed underwater. Later I figured out I could soak by sitting on a phone book on a chair and setting the glass of water on the front of the chair not on the phone book. I did this soak usually twice a day, usually at 4:30pm and 10pm for 2 months. During the third month, I just did the soak once a day unless they were sore.
When I awoke in the morning after the piercing there was a little dried black blood at the piercing entrances and exits. For the first six days, every morning there would be this same dried blood, usually only around the exit and often only around one piercing. There was also bruising at both exits.
The first morning I took my shower then lathered up some Dial antibacterial hand soap and tried to thoroughly clean the piercings. This was kind of painful in a ticklish way. As I was trying to rinse them off without getting them directly under the full force of the shower head, I suddenly got very hungry. Then I felt dizzy and knew I was going to black out, which I did, pulling down the shower curtain. It was very momentary, and I finished rinsing under the bathtub faucet. On each following morning, I ate breakfast before my shower, and cleaned one piercing at a time. I also continued to rinse under the bathtub faucet as the water doesn't come out with as much force and is easier to aim.
On the following Tuesday (day seven) I woke up with no dried blood and my dick was less hyper-sensitive. The bruises were almost gone. On days 9 through 11 I noticed a little bit of crustiness around the piercings that the salt water soak removed. On day 13 I noticed a bit of inflammation above the exit of the left piercing. The next morning a lesser inflammation was above the other piercing. On most days for the next several weeks there would be white crustiness around one or more of the four holes. Sometimes it looked as the skin itself had turned white around the edge of the exit. Again, the sea salt soaks were great at removing the crusties, or at least turning them to a white doughy substance that I'd wipe these off with toilet paper right after the soak.
By day 23 I noticed I could walk perfectly normally without worrying about how my dick was swinging. I began washing both piercings at the same time and it didn't matter if the shower spray hit them full blast. During the period between week one and week six, the wounds would differ on a day to day basis, but there were no significant visual changes over the long term during this period. The healing process was very slow. By week ten, the inflammation on the exits had disappeared. By three months, they seemed very close to being healed, having no soreness whatsoever, and I stopped giving them any special care.
Around April 1st, the right piercing began puffing up with an excess of lymph (that white stuff) and I resumed the sea salt soaks, which drained the piercing. It continued to swell for the next couple of days, then went back to normal. By nine months, the piercings no longer secreted any lymph. They still weren't healed, though. On some days, the area between the piercings looked bruised. At ten and a half months, they were pretty much healed, but from months ten through thirteen, the exit holes would sometimes be white and a bit scab-like in the morning.
Part IV: In Use
I didn't have any sex for the first ten weeks of having the dydoes. (I had gotten them in part to celebrate a break-up, so I was single.) Even after ten weeks, they were still extremely sore during and after handjobs, and a little sore after intercourse, but by week eleven, there was no soreness except for every so often when a piercing hit a tooth. Putting on a condom was a little tricky at first. By three months, things felt pretty normal in that I couldn't really feel the piecing during sex.
Part V: Stretching
It turned out 14 gauge was too small. The left one snagged on something and tore at some point. After that, it was easily aggravated. I put in 12 gauge jewelry and that helped some, but eventually I stretched to 10 gauge (both stretches were very easy; just did a sea salt soak with extra hot water and they slid right in) and I haven't had any problems with them since.
