I used to think piercing was silly. I'm not sure when I changed my mind, but a few weeks ago I started really looking at some of the possible piercings. I read a few websites and checked out a local piercer. I did NOT know what I was doing, but it was such a captivating idea I kept going back online to look at more piercings.
At A Glance Author Rory Contact Rory@bme.anon When A week ago Artist Skot Studio Saint Sabrina's Location Minneapolis, MN I wasn't sure what type of piercing would be good for me. Because of some financial/business reasons I didn't want any obvious piercings or really a visible piercing at all. I looked at the few options that were left and decided to look at genital piercing. I was just kinda toying with the idea really, but then I found a picture of a dydoe piercing. The day before I didn't have an idea what a dydoe was and now I just HAD to have it done. That was like 3am. I stayed up until 4am looking at it. I got up after noon and went to the piercer.
I was fairly confident when I went in, but with each step I got a bit more nervous. The first girl I talked to didn't know if they did dydoe piercings. The next person knew, but didn't know much about them. Then I talked to my piercer, Skot. He ruled. He knew all about it, was very confident, calm, and friendly. He explained everything to me. I got to pick out some cute jewelry with little gems (there were a lot of options).
We went in his office and he had me get on the table and drop my pants. Everybody online said it was an "anatomy dependant" piercing so I was afraid I might not be able to get it done. He took a look at my corona and confirmed I could do two dydoes, no problem. Woot!
I was pretty nervous still, but Skot talked me through the actual piercing process first. Then when he was getting ready I compared the music playing to Tom Jones :)
As per instructions I did the big audible breathe in and on the way out I felt some of the worst pain ever. A needle in the glans is absurdly painful, but only for the first few seconds. A second jolt to insert the jewelry. Then we took a short break. Boy did I need it!
I had read other people telling stories about getting twin dydoes and thinking about stopping after one. I was no exception. In my mind I was thinking, "One is enough. Heck one is almost too much!". I'm glad I didn't chicken out, but the second one hurt even more. I got over it though because they looked kinda cool.
I got all the after care instructions and I limped home to rest. I was very surprised at home fast the pain/discomfort faded. The first day I didn't want to move very fast, but I made it. The next two days it stopped making me jump every time I bumped the piercing. Not long after that it stopped really hurting at all and the swelling went down.
I had my piercer pull my second dydoe after a few days. It had gone in at a different angle than the other and looked kinda shallow. That piercing has healed over pretty good and I should be ready to try again. Skot was very cool and said to come see him to have it redone. I think I'm lucky to have had a good experience and found a piercer I trust right away.
I've been trying to hold off on any experiments with my new piercings to give them time to heal, but honestly I'm only human. I held out for only the first week. There is definitely some good sensation around the piercing and I can't wait to get the other one back in and possibly 2 more. My existing ones are at 10 and 2. I'm not sure if the others should go on top or around the sides. Or maybe both :)
Piercing is so addictive. There's a thrill to it, the act itself is art in my opinion, and the results can be beautiful. To me its adds both a physical sensation and a spiritual feeling. I won't claim its some profound experience in itself, but in a way it's a reflection of how courageous (belligerent?) I can be (Hey world, I got my penis pierced. Take that!).
If you have been thinking about a piercing I'd say go for it! I'm trying really hard to pace myself, but I'm pondering a guiche, lorum (maybe a ladder someday), and navel piercing. When I can have visible piercings I'm thinking of tongue, nostril, anti-eyebrow, rook, and industrial. Hopefully I get those done and can tell those stories too.
Thanks Skot!
