First, let me give you my "inventory", top to bottom: left ear 3 lobe, 2 cartilage, and a tragus (my newest piercing). Left nipple, CBR and vertical BB. CBR in my navel (I'm thinking about adding two more there). CBR hafada left side, 2 BB frenums, a PA, 3 guiches, and a partridge in a pear tree :-).

I got my dydoes about four years ago. At the time my only below-the-belt piercings were my hafada and one frenum, so they were my first "serious" genital piercing. I had a subscription to P.F.I.Q. (which has since gone out of business). I had also been to Gauntlet in L.A. (which has since closed) and in New York, so I was very familiar with the philosophy and work of those good people. It was a no-brainer that I would have a major piercing like dydoes done by a Master Piercer.

I cannot remember the lady's name who did the piercing, but she had been with Gauntlet for a long time, having just come back from a shop they had in France. I told her that I was concerned about the jewelry migrating, and she took a *long* time making sure that the placement would minimize the chances of that happening. At one point, she even called another piercer into the room so we could see how his dydoes were placed. Ultimately, my barbells were angled more toward the center of the head instead of the traditional other side of the corona, but I was and remain happy with their location. At any rate, I always say that the time she spend marking, measuring, and correcting was the longest a woman has ever handled my cock without me getting a hard-on -- in a situation like that, sex is the last thing on your mind. Well, almost the last.

After a good thirty minutes or so, the four entry and exit points were marked symmetrically. My piercer told me that I would feel a sharp pain, and then I would get a present. I was not so much nervous as anticipatory. Anyone who has ever had even an earlobe pierced knows how great the adrenaline rush is, and how wonderful it feels when the endorphins start kicking in. For most of us, that's part of why we do it.

At any rate, I believe that the right barbell was the first to go in, and while the piercing was painful, it wasn't as bad as I expected. If you've never been there (and you're male), it's almost impossible to imagine how a needle through the head of your cock must feel. But I had been poked quite a few times so I had some idea of what to expect. It turned out not to hurt as much as my nipple (which was my very first piercing) or my navel. I didn't have a basis for comparison when I had my nipple done, and my navel just plain HURT (maybe because I have less than 10% body fat and there wasn't much meat to push the needle through). Anyway, the piercing for the second dydoe hurt a bit more than the first, but again, it was not horrible. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being unbearable, I'd say the pain never exceeded a 7.

Afterwards, my piercer gently wrapped me up and used the rubber gloves she was wearing to protect the bandage, held on with a rubber band. I already had plenty of experience in the art of aftercare, and genital piercings tend to heal quickly anyway, so I was "out of commission" for only a week or so. That was when I realized that the barbells were a little too short, and on my next trip to the city I stopped in and had them changed out. I also remember that the left piercing bled more than the right, but neither was too bad.

Dydoes aren't for everyone. However, if you have a well-defined head, and get them installed fairly deep, they're a great piercing in terms of appearance and in terms of enhancing sensitivity. Also, my experience has been that the ladies are fascinated by them, along with all my genital work. Just remember that there will be some swelling during the healing process, so be sure that you get fairly long barbells. And always go to an experienced piercer.

It was about a year between my last two piercings. Just about the time that I think I've got it out of my system, I'll start feeling the need for the metal. I'm proud to say that I've never "lost" a piercing -- every one I've ever gotten has taken, and I haven't had any infections at all (I'm really anal about cleaning).

If anyone has any questions about this or any other piercings, or just wants to talk bod mod, give me an email.
