This is a story about a new Dolphin, but I have a history with genital piercing that might be interesting to explain how I got to the Dolphin. I started with a frenum. That was about 5 years ago, when I was 55. I loved it. But it tended to twist and snag, which caused a lot of discomfort. My wife never became comfortable with it either, so I retired it. But it whetted my appetite. Then I went for a scrotal. That one became inflamed and I gave up on it. Then I had a PA, which I had a lot of trouble with. The piercer did not have a ring, so he used a curved barbell, which tended to fall back into the urethra, causing a lot of bleeding and discomfort. It also was long and when it stuck out the urethra, I could not keep it from pulling on the hole.

Despite the problems with the PA, I finally decided to go for the gold and had the PA converted to an Apadravya. I knew that was what I wanted all along, but I had not worked up my courage. The reports on BME about Apadravyas terrified me.

After I got the Apadravya, I was convinced it was the final solution. I loved it. It was always present, and provided a lot of sensation even when all I was doing was sitting or walking. Even urinating was fun. It tended to stay in the proper location so it did not cause pain from getting caught sidewise. It eventually healed well, and I had no inflammation or scarring.

But again my wife had problems getting comfortable. I kept shortening the bar until it was just too short for me. It was so short that an erection was too painful. So at that point I gave up on the whole piercing idea.

Then I missed having a piercing and a few months ago I checked out the scars from the retired Apa and saw that the PA whole was not completely closed and I could put a pin through it. So I inserted a 3/8-diameter 12-gauge segment ring. I thought the small segment ring, would be at least something for me, and would be almost non-existent to my wife from a size standpoint. It was fine with my wife and I was happy to have a piercing back, but it was not very present for me at that small size. It worked wonders during sex, but I craved something I could also feel during ordinary activity.

So after cruising BME for a few weeks, I decided that maybe a Dolphin was the answer. I had been intrigued about this piercing. I was always somewhat curious why there are not a lot of photos or experiences about them. It concerned me because it seemed such a cool idea; I thought they should be more common. But finally, I figured it was just another PA hole and I could have a larger piece of jewelry in the urethra without as much external size for my wife to deal with.

I have a strong preference for female piercers on genital piercings and it was hard to find one in Seattle. My previous experiences with males had been less than stellar. They packed a lot of attitude, lacked in care in placement and don't treat the equipment like the precious treasure it is.

I hunted up a woman in Vancouver B.C. for the Apa who was great, but I could not locate her this time. I was debating what to do, because I had not found any female piercers in Seattle. Then I remembered I had read an old posting on BME about Chuck who despite the name was female. I had been passing over her when I Googled piercers because there was no picture on her website and it just listed Chuck. When I remembered the old story from BME, I googled her I found she had recently moved her practice to Pierced Hearts Tattoo Parlor in the University District of Seattle. It is a large tattoo parlor with her studio in the way back. I still was not positive this was the female Chuck until her very female apprentice Terry came out of a piercing procedure she was observing to assist me. Terry got all the paperwork done and ran through the aftercare with me. Terry is warm and friendly and was non-plussed at my request for a Dolphin. She assured me that it would be no problem for Chuck.

When Chuck finished with her previous customer she took me back and asked about my piercing history while she cleaned all of her work surfaces. You could immediately tell she was a total professional. She moved with efficiency, little wasted movement and total concentration and calm. She is friendly but professional. Her room is immaculate, well organized, and well lit. She talks you through the entire process. She cleaned the area and noted that my PA hole had been placed off center to avoid going in the frenum. So she recommended keeping the Dolphin straight rather than centering the new hole, which would put the barbell on an angle. She marked the location so that the piercing would be off center but parallel to the centerline of the penis. I had been taking deep calming breaths as she talked through the process. The she offered to show me the marking and I laid back and continued with the breathing.

The main difference I noted from getting a PA is that the receiving tube enters a lot deeper into the urethra. This makes it very noticeable as it is inserted and keeps going and going down the urethra. I do some sounding, so I was I not annoyed. In fact somewhat to my surprise, the insertion started an involuntary erection, but being a total pro, Chuck went about her work with no issue. The whole procedure was over in no time. It was the gentlest pierce I have had and the quickest. She no sooner said get ready than she was done with the hole. Then she explained she needed to pull the 10-gauge bar through with a taper. She would pull it in the new hole and up through the original PA hole.

The real surprise was when she inserted the taper in two holes and that length of urethra, she was essentially sounding me and the process was "over stimulating." I had involuntary responses which were pleasant but not what I would want to happen in that environment. It was embarrassing to a point, especially when something in addition to blood spurted out.

But I could tell from Chuck's demeanor she has seen it all and I said, "Sorry, but it has a mind of its own." That brought a chuckle. She did note that it was a good size check for the jewelry when the penis is erect.

You can just tell that Chuck has mastered her craft. She also is pleasant, friendly and engaging. The shop is among the nicer cleaner Tattoo shops and they have a really nice selection of jewelry. The shop had all the atmosphere you want in a tattoo shop, but not that sort of anarchist in your face look.

If you are in Seattle, I don't think you can go wrong.

I love the look of the new piece. Now a day later, the bleeding is stopped and there is no discomfort. Hopefully, I have found the perfect compromise for my wife and me. I really want to carry jewelry but want her to be totally comfortable. This looks like a good answer.

Now that I have found Chuck I am thinking about a Guiche and another try at a scrotal. I have not tested the Dolphin but expect it will provide a lot of extra stimulation. It feels substantial at 10-gauge and I still hope to stretch it at least a size. I am even more curious why this piercing does not seem more common as it was not difficult at all.
