For a clear definition of what I am talking about the following definition comes from en.wikipedia.org

A Dolphin is a Prince Albert piercing attached to another, deeper Prince Albert piercing. It is usually done with a curved barbell as jewelry. Its name comes from the appearance of the jewelry "diving" through the surface of the skin.

The main reason people who are thinking about getting a male genital piercing, such as the dolphin, PA, etc... is for either the aesthetic reasons, or in my case to try something new in the sack. I would recommend reading as much as you can before you decide. I knew I wanted a Dolphin for many reasons. But it may not be the one for you. For the record the PA, and Dolphin variation are considered to be some of the most pleasurable for your partners.

Now that you know what a dolphin piercing is, here is my story.

I have read a lot on the dolphin piercing and while all information was very helpful there was not a whole lot written on how the procedure might be done. So I went to Duffy's Exotic Piercing Studio. I have had my nipples both pierced by Duffy. He is very friendly and insightful; he also has the oldest piercing studio in Lincoln. This is all beside the point. I went in about a week ago having decided that I wanted to have my penis pierced. I had read a lot about a dolphin piercing prior to going in. I started to talk to Duffy and everyone I knew would only do the piercing after a Prince Albert was done and fully healed. Now lets face it this is a serious piercing to get, and I honestly did not know if I could go through the whole process twice. We started to talk about how we could accomplish a dolphin piercing without the added heal time. After a little talk about an hour, he said he knew what to do. He keeps in stock extra long piercing needles.(this is very important later on)

So Duffy sent me on my way after having picked out an 8g ¾" curved barbell to be used on the piercing. We scheduled an appointment for last Saturday. He told me to expect bleeding and to help reduce bleeding to lower or stop all caffeine, alcohol, and aspirin intake (anything that thins out your blood) for the week prior to getting the piercing to help lower the amount of bleeding. So I now had the hardest part of the whole procedure the wait. Those four days seemed to go so slow. Finally Friday night was upon me, I called my friend Jenn (one that convinced me to get it ;-) ) and told her that I would be going in at noon Saturday to get the piercing, and invited her to come watch. Plus I knew if a girl was there I had less of a chance of chickening out. Plus I was not a hundred percent sure on how comfortable I was with having a guy hold my member. Well I then made a list of things to do in the morning to keep myself busy.

Saturday

The day was finally here I could barely believe what was about to happen. I mean I was not only going to have my member pierced, but I was no longer going to be able to have sex for approx. 3-8 weeks. So having over come the fears thanks to Jenn we head on over to Duffy's studio. We arrive at Duffy's and are greeted with the usual paperwork. It was now judgment day. He has me come to the back room and drop my drawers. I then sit down and he starts to talk me through the procedure. At this point I am no longer concerned with what he has to say, its taking all I can muster to stay seated in this chair. He then tells me he will apply a numbing cream (I can handle pain as well as any man, but I have never been so thankful to hear those words in my life.) by sticking a small amount of the cream down my urethra to numb it from the inside as well as the outside. So we wait the few minutes for the cream to numb me up.

Its go time, he takes out the micrometer and puts two dots indicating where the piercing enters and exits on the shaft. He placed one dot in the "v" formed after a circumcision was preformed. This is the traditional location for the PA piercing, but the second one was made about 11/16ths of an inch lower. He asked if I liked the placement, and once I agreed I asked for a moment to gather up my courage.

It was the moment of truth he took the receiving tube out of the sterile packaging along with the other tools needed (which later we found out only needed to be one needle, receiving tube, and the jewelry). I was terrified at this point there were tools laying all over on the tray it looked like I was going to be having open heart surgery. He inserts the tube into my urethra all the way to the lower piercing, asks me to inhale and with that the first one was done, one more to go. This is were its is important you have a professional do it for you. With his extra long piercing needles and his years of experience, he carefully moved the receiving tube and needle (still in my urethra) to the next hole. He then slides the receiving tube off of the needle, exposing it to the urethra lining and pushes the needle out. Threaded on the jewelry and wow does it look great!!!!

There is no doubt in my mind that Duffy knew exactly what he was doing. He asked if he could take pictures seeing as I was his first dolphin and he did both holes at once with I technique not tried and preformed flawlessly. Thanks again Duffy. Now I am sure you would like to know how bad it hurt. The only thing I can tell you is after the receiving tube was inserted I had forgotten about the numbing cream (feels funny in your urethra), and by the time he poked me the first time I forgot about the tube (feels weird, lots of pressure that's about it), and I forgot the fist poke when he did the second, and I almost jumped out of the chair when he finished pushing the bar through before he attached the balls. I will say one thing if you are thinking about getting one do it you will love it, and if pain is a big concern just remember pain goes away.
