Before I tell you how I went about doing my own Trans scrotal let me give this warning, this modification can be very dangerous and potentially life threatening if done wrongly so please be extremely careful and do your research if considering this piercing.

A bit of background on why I wanted to do this. I have had body piercing(ear lobes since 13) and tattoos since I was 18 and always wanted some sort of jewellery thro my scrotum. I just felt naked without but seeing photos of scrotal rings I know that was not the answer.

Fast forward to spring of 2004 and I found BME's website (ok a slow learner) and found exactly what I was missing.

Having constantly checked and talked to many people about the aspects and logistics of this piercing I felt I was ready to have it done. Originally I was aiming to get my long-term Piercer, Warren from Perforations/Metaflesh to do the procedure but understandably he wasn't too keen. The advice he gave me however I will be forever in his debt for.

Ok I thought the hardest part would be the suturing of the wound so once I had manufactured a clamp large enough to told everything in place and stopping the blood supply, but still allow me to leave it in place while I sutured both sides of my new piercing together. What I used was two plates of thick acrylic with a large circular hole cut out in the centre of each held closed by two clamps.

Once I was sure the clamps would work having tested them and refining the acrylic plates till I was happy I went about ordering the tools I would need. Many people reckoned that using a Dermal Punch was the best way to perform this procedure so I ordered up the largest available off BMEshop along with suture material and most importantly a bottle of "stop Bleed"(just in case).

Everything sterilised and readied for the big day, on 11/06/2005 I set my self up in the bedroom with everything to hand. Having drunk a litre of Coke to keep my sugar levels up a phoned my good mate DEE to get her to keep ringing me every 1/2 hour to be on the safe side and put the phone next to me in case everything wrong and I needed the emergency services. To give an idea as to what an emergency service crew would have to deal with incise of problems I had written down the procedure and known risks and layed it out beside me in case I was too incapacitated if they were needed.

Once every eventuality was covered I gradually clamped my scrotum till it was just thin layers of skin, this took around 3/4 hour to ensure blood-flow was well and truly shut off as this also acted as an anaesthetic. Having swabbed the whole area previously i was just a case of checking no major veins were going to be in the way, marking to piercing site and breaking open the 8mm Dermal Punch.

I am glad I chose the Punch as it was simplicity in it's self, as soon as the punch made contact with my skin it made light work of the layers of tissue, slicing thro them with ease, a few twists and it was out the other side in a matter of seconds. That was easy I thought and changed Gloves while taking the opportunity to snap of some photos.

Now for the hard bit. Having been practising my suturing skills on anything I could find around the house for a few weeks previously I was happy they would be ok for my to do, so carefully I put in 8 or 10 stitches pulling the outer edges of the wound together to facilitate healing as readily as I could. Glad I took time to make that clamp work correctly as its not easy to try stitching and holding up something like this, especially when you are high on endorphins and a massive adrenalin high. Last suture in and a quick clean up later(more photos too) I gave the area a quick squirt of "Stop Bleed" just in case and slipped in the 10mm flesh tube I had got made especially long for the job. Gradually releasing the clamps I was glad of the Cautery agent as immediately it started to bleed quite bit.

Having put a dressing on each side I cleared up, drank the rest of the 2L bottle of Coke and Rang Dee to give her the good news.

Living with a Trans scrotal..

over the next few weeks healing when very well and apart form feeling and looking like I had been kicked in the balls by an elephant for the first week i had no problems. I took the sutures out after 10 days and the wound held no problem. So far so good.

I was soon to discover for myself the amazing stretching properties of your scrotum, in the last 6-9 months I have gone up rapidly in 5mm intervals form the initial 10mm jewellery to my current 32mm!

I was lucky to have a perfectly successful Trans scrotal as not all heal satisfactory.

Be aware this could have easily been a completely different situation so do not take the decision to have this done lightly, your life and health is more important.
