When I first got into bodmod it was a navel piercing with my buddy and a sewing machine needle when we were 12 years old. Not the safest or sanitary of conditions but we were young and dumb. It migrated out in a few wks but no big harm. Since then I have always been into the peripheral of bodmod, not too extreme but not mainstream. My first real piercing was a frenum when I turned 18 and I said I was pretty done with genital piercing. There was really nothing else that tickled my dolphin.

This was one hell of a nice looking piercing and very unusual. I was instantly in love. I wasn't too thrilled with the procedure that I found though. Scalpeling and suturing, it wasn't my kind of thing. I thought that maybe one day I might be ready.
Years later I decided to once again look into this. Being a financial advisor it is a bit hard to find modifications that are acceptable, or at least hidden. This became the forerunning idea. I asked one of the only piercers I trust in Tampa what he thought. He said it would be easy with a 4 gauge needle and a ptfe bar. I brought up the idea of scalpeling and he said that it was unnecessary, that if it were large gauge and short enough length it would be just fine to heal together. Unsure I said that I wanted to look a little farther into it. I found another piercer that was versed in them named Alva Richcreek. I asked him his opinion on the subject and he said that it would be fine to pierce and I shouldn't worry about healing as long as we adjusted the length to something shorter after the swelling went down.
Since I now had 2 separate opinions that were congruent I decided I was willing to try this method of transcrotal. I went back to the original piercer the next weekend and told him that I was ready and to order the jewelry and set up an appointment. He said he would have it by the following Wednesday and I told him I would call him and come in the next weekend. After calling and stopping by numerous times over the few weeks it became apparent that he didn't have the same sort of urgency with the project that I did. We agreed that it may be better for me to discuss the procedure with Alva.
Now was the second trip to Mean Machine. I stopped up to see my buddy get an armpiece done and talked to Alva for a few minutes. After telling him the story and how I have been waiting he told me that he would be able to do it in about 25 minutes and just needed time to autoclave the equipment. Let's do it. I went home to shower and shave.
The plan was to do a 10 gauge tygon barbell until the swelling went down and then look into stretching and decreasing the length of the jewelry. He set me up behind the curtains and marked me while standing. Then I lied down on the chair and he clamped and flattened my scrotum between the clamps. He then prepped the jewelry, a 4 inch 10 gauge piece of tygon into a 3 inch 10 gauge needle. He told me to take a deep breath and hold it. Now release. It didn't hurt a bit. I was still getting myself ready for the needle by the time it was done. This matched with my tongue as far as pain. After a few drops of blood it was over.
It has now been 2 days and things are going fine. There is a bit of swelling and it is going all through my sack but I think that it is quite normal. I do 2 salt soaks a day with normal iodized salt and wear underwear as much as possible to prevent movement. There has been a little discharge into the salt soak when I clean it but it looks healthy and not discolored or smelly. It has been kind of interesting sitting down lately, its sometimes easier to stand. I find myself adjusting myself in public more than normal and probably more than socially acceptable.
I'm still not sure if it will be able to close correctly to heal but it looks very stretchable and I think that as long as I open it up to a larger gauge barbell that shortens each time it should end up just like I wanted. I will keep you updated as to if piercing a transcrotal works as well as the scalpel/suture method. Wish me luck.
