It started as a bit of a joke. I'd recently had my nipples pierced, which was bothersome enough for some of my friends. Just joking around to upset my friends a bit, I suggested I would get my dick pierced next. I'm as hesitant as anyone to have a metal objects shoved through my genitals, but the more I thought about this joke and looked at various piercings online, the more I thought I might like to get a genital piercing after all. I'd heard, of course, of price alberts and other piercings, but I was not interested. I was, however, interested in the ampallang and apadravya.

Over the course of the next few months, I continued researching photos and stories of various genital piercings, and I became more and more intrigued by the concept of the apadravya. It was a piercing that I not only thought was rather fun on its own, but apparently it was also helpful to the ladies during intercourse. Not bad. Around Thanksgiving I began discussing my options with different piercers. Most said they were not comfortable performing the apadravya but they would be glad to do something less technical like a PA. Well, by this time I was set on the apadravya and if I was going to have a needle shoved through my cock, I was going to have the piercing I really wanted. Eventually I spoke with Sarah at Immaculate and she indicated she had performed a number of these piercings and was comfortable doing one for me. I knew 14 G would likely tug and tear too much, so I inquired about getting a 12 G. Sarah explained that she normally starts at 10. What the hell. 12, 10, what's the difference? It's going ot hurt like hell either way, so I'd at least prefer to have the greatest amount of post-piercing comfort. I decided I would indeed have Sarah pierce the apadravya at 10 G. Over the next two months various circumstances continued to prevent me from getting the piercing I'd decided upon, but I felt that this was fine because it simply allowed me extra time to be certain this is what I wanted. Of course I'd read a handful of horror stories about excessive bleeding, and I knew of the possibility of having to sit while I piss, at least for a while.

Finally the time came around where I no longer had anything preventing me from getting the piercing. I went to Immaculate on one of my few Friday nights off. I looked out of place, wearing a sweatshirt and scrub pants, so people were naturally curious what piercing I might be getting. When I explained what I intended to have done, I suppose they understood why I was more concerned about the softness of my clothing than my appearance. There were a couple piercings ahead of me, so I had plenty of time to contemplate my decision in the waiting room. I filled out all the necessary paperwork and discussed aftercare with Anna while I waited for Sarah to finish up with the other customers. As the minutes ticked by, I grew more and more nervous, but I had decided a long time ago that this was something I wanted, so there was no risk of me walking out.

When my time finally came, Sarah took me back into the piercing room, showed me the autoclave strips, and explained the procedure. I have not been that nervous to undress since my first medical physical during grade school, but Sarah was completely professional and managed to keep me calm throughout the process. She performed all the standard cleaning and marking, and then it was time for the clamps. Oh, the clamps. That's when it truly began to sink in. There's really no time you'd have clamps on your dick that would be followed with anything but discomfort. It became even less comfortable, which I thought was just the sensation of the clamps settling, but apparently it was the initial placement of the tip of the needle. I knew breathing was key, and I tried my best to stay calm at least for a few more seconds until the real ordeal began. Then it began. I think I experienced more panic than actual pain. My thoughts immediately shifted to something like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU STABBING A NEEDLE THROUGH MY PENIS?!?! I kept breathing throughout and eventually regained my composure. After the threading of the jewelry, it was time to have a look. After so many months of wanting, I could not believe it was finally complete. I hung out in the waiting room for a while to be sure nothing bad would happen, and then I was on my way with my Satin and sea salt. And I must say, side by side this obviously was the most painful piercing I've had. However, comparing one experience to another, the day I had my nips done was actually worse. The second nipple was practically as painful as the apadravya, and combined with the first nipple the entire experience was certainly worse.

Post-piercing was not nearly as bad as expected. My nipples remained sore for quite some time, but I only had mild discomfort for the first week, and then afterwards it has been negligible. I had to use the gauze + "rubber chicken" rubber glove trick for the first few days. The bleeding continuously soaked the gauze the first 24 hours, especially at the gym, but after that the bleeding was not bad, and after a couple days I wore only gauze, and a few after that I stopped with the gauze. Urinating initially was rather cumbersome, especially with all the gauze and gloves involved, but this was primarily due to the bleeding and swelling. After a few days when these had subsided, I've not had any problem with the bathroom. Perhaps it might become a problem as the piercing heals, but so far I've not had any difficulty with standing urination since the first day or two, as it all flows normally currently. I've been washing it daily with the satin and trying to soak twice daily with sea salt, and I think it's helped considerably. I will be pleased when it is time to get a slightly shorter barbell so the excess will not be so prone to hang up on the flap on my underwear.

All in all I am very pleased with the new piercing. I would suggest to anyone considering it to go ahead with the 10 G for the initial piercing. I cannot imagine having anything thinner. Frankly, I do not think 8 G would be too large, and I am not a large-diameter piercing kind of guy. As for prospects of getting 14 or 12 and stretching to 10 or larger, I'd suggest just piercing larger in the beginning. You can only truly experience so much pain in those first few seconds, so I'd rather have a bit more pain with a larger needle than have to deal with the discomfort of a barbell that is too thin or unnecessarily experience the added pain of stretching.

This piercing requires that you are dedicated and certain it is what you want, but at the end of the day it is well worth it. I'm not suggesting it is an automatic sex magnet, but I haven't encountered anyone that was not intrigued to some extent by the notion of the apadravya. And once the girls make the association between the piercing and the supposed "g-spot," they do tend to become a little curious.
