My 23rd birthday was coming, and I wanted to do something to remember it. Having already had a PA a few years prior and taking it out for a few stupid reasons, I decided that I was going to go back and get another genital piercing. After speaking with an old friend, who was now a piercer for a local tattoo shop, I decided that this trip back home I was going to do it.

After reading various accounts of the piercing here on BMEzine I was sure this was going to be the worst pain in my life. Ashley was quick to comfort me and reinforce my decision, and after seeing the receiving tube for the PA again and remembering that discomfort I was happy I made the decision as well.
Upon entering the shop, I was very pleased by being quickly greeted by a man doing a tattoo in the next room before catching the attention of my old friend. The shop was clean, and the room used to pierce had the feel of a doctor's office. Looking around I seen a lot of pictures of Ashley's work which made me feel a lot more comfortable with the procedure. Ashley's personality and experience made me feel right at home, and alleviated a lot of my worry.
Ashley started with the usual, marking the entry and exit points to ensure a straight piercing and choosing jewelry. We chose to pierce at a 14 gauge with a longer barbell to compensate for swelling. I was hoping for a 10 gauge piercing as I had done with my PA, but I was not the expert here. Ashley let me know that a stretch when I come back in 2 months would be no problem, and we moved forward. After a few minutes she had everything where it needed to be and we were ready to start. After clamping me up and inspecting the entry and exit points again, I laid back to ensure I would not see the needle and move when she was piercing. After a few seconds of the clamp I knew it was game time. My curiosity overcame me and I looked up only to see the needle preparing to complete the piercing. Not good. My eagerness overcame me and the adrenaline rushed in. I requested that the clamp be removed for a minute so I could regain my composure. Ashley removed the clamp and we sat and talked for a minute or so. The adrenaline slowed, I regained my composure, and we got back to business. After putting the clamp back on, I immediately laid back and made it a point to not become curious this time. Ashley told me that she would have to re-mark my entry and exit points because we had removed the clamp, a clever tactic to keep me calm and ensure a quick piercing. After a few seconds I felt a few little pricks, but thinking I was just being re-marked I remained calm. BAM the needle was through. Faster than my brain could comprehend the pain, it was over. Don't get me wrong, this was an extreme pain, but nothing that cannot be tolerated. I sat up quickly yelling a few choice words, looked down to see Ashley putting the bottom ball on my jewelry and smiling to say "all done!" So this was it. What I had thought was going to be so awful was only about 10 seconds of pain. Ashley wrapped me in gauze and took her top glove off and wrapped it around my newly pierced piece.
I sat with Ashley catching up on old times for an hour or so with little to no discomfort. I was hoping I would be able to stay until I had to urinate for the first time. I had an hour drive back to my mom's house and I didn't want the urge to come in the way. As I wished, about 45 minutes in I got the chance. Expecting a burning sensation from my experience with my PA, I was pleasantly surprised when nothing happened. I wrapped myself back up and said goodbye until May and thanked Ashley for her time.
The first night was uncomfortable. Most of this was because I was unsure of how I could sleep. Being a stomach sleeper, I wanted to be careful not to tweak the piercing and cause a long night so I tried to sleep on my side. I woke up around 6 am with the normal morning erection. Let me tell you, this fucking hurt. It stayed for over an hour throbbing, mocking me for what I had done. I had to laugh because after 23 years of having my way with my little soldier, he was now having his way with me. After the erection left, I went back to sleep, sleeping on my stomach with no problem.
The next day I made a trip to Walgreen's and purchased a few boxes of 2" by 2" gauze and medical tape. I found that by putting a gauze pad on the top and on the bottom of the piercing and holding it on with the medical tape I would be able to avoid blood-staining my clothing. I also wrapped a rubber glove around it and taped it on. For the first couple days it was a tedious job as I am the type of person that always has to urinate when it's not a good time. Mentally I just feel like I have too. The second day I had a 5hr plane ride home to Arizona, so this problem was not going to be fun. I had a layover in Cincinnati, OH so I thought I would get the chance to go there and avoid using an airplane lavatory. Wrong. My planes were late, and I ended up landing in Cincinnati only ten minutes before the last connecting flight to Phoenix left for the night. So instead of being gentle with the tender area, I found myself running through the airport. That fucking hurt. The airplane lavatory wasn't to bad as I had a system down with how to get this gauzed up and be on my way relatively quickly.
After the second night the bleeding subsided, but I continued gauzing for comfort and protection from snags at work. I no longer was using the rubber gloves. I found that the painful morning erections were not as bad now and I began my ritual of soaking in Epsom salt and using h2ocean spray whenever I got the chance. Unfortunately with this piercing, I had to re-wrap it often due to my frequency of urination, but the more it was done the more I had it down to an art. Ashley called again to see if all was well, and ensured me that the worst was over.
On the fifth day I quit wrapping it up. I found that I could now just wear loose boxers and as long as no sudden moves were made (i.e. standing up quickly) I would get little to no discomfort. The h2ocean was a real life saver and I continued to use it with every urination to clean the ring and keep turning it to avoid the pain of it getting stuck. Aside from the occasional snag, it was feeling well. The bruising was gone, as well as the tenderness.
From this point forward I found that anything and everything around it would turn me on. Knowing that intercourse was out of the question, my partner and I had to take it back to eighth grade. The first ejaculation was extremely powerful, but also extremely painful. This was the only painful ejaculation.
On the tenth day I could no longer maintain abstinence, and finally got to try my ring out. It was interesting to say the least getting the ring inside to do the deed, but after a few minutes of coaxing it obliged. The sex was incredible for my partner with multiple internal orgasms which led to her being a shaking pile on the bed; however, I found that the ring seemed to isolate my most sensitive areas. I was afraid that my partner would find this as a downer and lose confidence in herself for this, but it just wasn't working this time. Back to the eighth grade to complete the job, straight to the shower, and then a ten minute Epsom salt soak.
All in all my experience with my piercer and my piercing were great. The process was painful, but well worth it. The piercing is very aesthetically pleasing, and so far extremely sexually pleasing. If you are here reading to decide if you are going to make the jump like I was, just do it. The pain is temporary, but the experience will last a lifetime. If you are in Ohio, make the trip over and see Ashley at Mainstreet Studios and let her know that Brock sent ya. You and your partner will be happy you did!
